Each Lake Powell Resort room will have two double beds. All rooms are private and people traveling together can share the room. It is an eco-friendly hotel.

Program

This small wellness retreat, for up to five guests, offers time and space for learning and healing. Arielle, Debra, Mark, and Jennie will be holding sacred space, welcoming you to their family of like-minded souls on a journey to be their best selves.

This will be a true digital detox, with airplane mode required and where Internet in the middle of nowhere is spotty at best. Disconnect from your world and reconnect with Mother Nature’s finest there.

This wellness retreat also focuses on diet and nutrition offering fresh, healthy, organic meals, and is easy to adjust for any special dietary requests.

Now, more than ever, as you journey through these turbulent times, you need to fill your soul with love and light, and there is no place better than in your scared earthscape. Connecting back to the quiet spaces of Mother Earth and disconnecting from the chaos that surrounds your urban centers will allow you to draw from the strength and beauty of the natural world.

Based in beautiful Page, Arizona, on the shores of Lake Powell, this Monumental Meditation program includes exploration of mystical slot canyons, majestic viewpoints, and lush water oases. There, you can reconnect with the body, the breath, and Mother Earth through yoga, meditation, kayaking, and more!

Stress from daily life, and emotional, mental, and physical traumas often lead to disconnect from others, this world, and most importantly yourself. Reconnect with your heart and self-worth as well as work with stress and traumas that have been stored within the body through individualized sessions with our social worker: Arielle Leeberg, MSW, MA, RYT, Reiki master.

Healing in nature

Through the isolation of the past two years, more studies have shown the healing effects of just being in nature. You need time to reconnect to wide-open spaces. Northern Arizona and Southern Utah abound in places of solitude. You will quietly and mindfully explore the area's famous slot canyons, Horseshoe Bend, and navigate the waters of Lake Powell.

Mother Earth will provide the backdrop for relaxing breath and meditation, gentle mindful hikes, and quiet exploration, leading to a reawakening of the mind-body connection.

Breath and the mind-body connection

Breath sounds so simple. Everyone does it without giving it a thought, but there are many ways to breathe. From Dr. Andrew Weil and John Cabot-Zinn to Buddha, along with other teachers, many have shared their sacred understanding of the importance of breath in one's health. This journey will offer reminders and techniques to breathe, enhancing the body-mind connection.

Relaxation and meditation practices

The days will begin with sunrise gratitude ceremonies each morning and sunset meditation, reminding you to celebrate each and every day. Easy-to-moderate hikes will focus on mindfulness as you gently explore the elements of your surroundings.

In the stillness, listen to the wind as it sweeps through the canyons and hear birds adrift on the thermals, insects singing, pebbles falling , as well your breathing. You can also bring flutes and drums as part of the sound healing program to enhance the mind-body connection.

Sound healing

This ancient art of sound healing is supported by scientific research. The tone and vibration of instruments can stimulate various parts of the brain. The mind-body connection through sound healing is an integral part of your journey.

Gentle stretch and Restorative yoga

Monumental Meditation has found that yoga can sometimes be a scary word for new students. However, they also know stretch and restorative practices that help the mind-body connection. The yoga practices will celebrate a gentle morning stretch and after the group's adventures, there will be a gentle, restorative relaxation.

For those more advanced students, opportunities are available for more traditional yoga practices.

Evening astronomy

Join them for a journey through their unique dark sky heavens at night. Check out the moon and planets, explore the constellations, and experience the awe of a new moon Milky Way, a truly otherworldly experience.

Location

This retreat will be held at the Lake Powell Resort, the only hotel on the shores of Lake Powell with miles of beautiful walking trails and several beaches. Class activities will be held in a beautiful private ranch and organic farm near the hotel.

Food

Eating well does not have to be complicated. Let Monumental Meditation share their passion for cooking and eating! Food is an integral part of who Monumental Meditation is. They source local organic produce whenever possible and provide cooking classes with easy recipes each evening.

Breakfast will be at Lake Powell Resort's lakeview room terrace or the ranch. You will have fruit, yogurt, and freshly baked bread with jam daily. There will also be an additional special selection, including steel-cut oats or crepes or quiche.

Lunch will be following an adventure and will include fruits and vegetables, a sandwich entrée or pasta salad, and hummus with vegan crisps.

For dinner, perhaps have lemongrass and coconut milk tofu with jasmine rice, lentil chili with pasta, or grilled zucchini burgers with homemade sweet potato and beet chips. There'll be so many wonderful healthy choices.

Monumental Meditation is alos hoping that you will enjoy as many meals as possible in the great outdoors, such as a picnic on the beach with a campfire, breakfast overlooking the lake, and dinner at the ranch.

Based on the group's dietary needs, you will enjoy fresh vegetarian or vegan menus. Monumental Meditation is also sensitive to any dietary needs and is happy to customize menus accordingly. All meals listed in the itinerary are included in the price.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Page Municipal Airport (PGA). Page Airport to Lake Powell Resort transfer is included in the price. Daily flights to Page from Phoenix are available through Contour Airlines.

Arrival by car

Located in the heart of Arizona Canyon country, renting a car and exploring other national parks in the area is also an option.

Flying into Phoenix, the drive to Page is about four and a half hours and the Grand Canyon South Rim is not far off the path.

Flying into Las Vegas, the drive to Page is also about four and a half hours and Grand Canyon North Rim or Zion is not far off the path.
