Go on an exciting journey through Croatia, southern Italy, and Sicily. You will cross three countries, also including Albania, covering a total of around 4,390 km. The tour will last for 23 days of unforgettable days and experiences.
Instructions will be given in English and / or German
Accommodation includes 21 nights at hotels and 1 night on a ferry, all in double occupancy. Upgrades for single rooms are available.
Girls and boys, the motorcycle and touring season in Central Europe draws to a close at the end of October every year. It is sad but true. From November onwards, a long wait begins until the next spring.
MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator is of course aware of this problem, which is why they have put together a very special tour to end the year, at least for Central Europe.
They will be taking advantage of the climatic advantages of Southern Europe, because in these parts (Croatia, Albania, Southern Italy, and Sicily), you can still tour to your heart's content at this time of year. If you feel comfortable and at home in Europe, you definitely shouldn't miss this tour.
This tour is not suitable for real novice riders. For riders with only a little experience, MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator asks for prior consultation.
You will arrive at the international airport, Resnik Airport (SPU) in Split. There are very cheap flights to Split from almost all major airports in Europe and especially from Germany available. Participants from outside of Europe may use the international airport Franjo Tuđman Airport (ZAG) in Zagreb as a possible stopover.
MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator will greet you upon your arrival and take care of your transfer from Split airport to Split hotel. The hotel is about a five-minute walk from the motorbike parking spaces. Of course, you will use their own motorcycles for this tour. They only have new machines in their fleet, e.g.:
In the evening before departure and before the group has dinner together, they will inspect the motorcycles together and make any necessary setup, e.g. for the driver's height. A briefing will also be included. You will then have the opportunity to stow some of the luggage that you brought with you in the side cases and the top case.
The next morning, you can then store all your luggage that you do not want to take with you on the trip, such as suitcases in MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator's rooms, dry and carefree.
After a breakfast together at the hotel and a short briefing, the journey will begin. You will pick up the motorbike at the starting point in Split and get it ready to go. The clock will say 08:30 when you set off. Go on an adventure!
On the first day, the journey will head south on the well-known "Jadranska Magistrala" (HR), with its well-developed and winding roads. The first destination will be the "Kravice Waterfalls" (BIH) and of course, the "Old Bridge" of "Mostar" (BIH).
You will take a short trip to Bosnia and Herzegovina before you return to Croatia in the evening, particularly in "Dubrovnik" (HR), which is certainly one of the most beautiful cities in Croatia. You will also spend the night there and end the first evening with a meal together at the well-known and very popular old town of Dubrovnik. The tour today will be 304 km.
You will be taking advantage of the fact that the ferry connections from Split and Dubrovnik to Italy are suspended at the end of September. This will give you the crucial advantage that you will encounter fewer tourists who can make the roads unsafe. Enjoy this time with MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator.
You will then continue south from Dubrovnik, through Montenegro to Albania, or more precisely, to "Durrës" (AL), to the port of Durrës. You will pass the "Bay of Kotor" (MNE) and the beautiful "Shkodra Lake" (MNE/AL).
You will reach Durrës late in the evening and then check in on the ferry to Bari (IT) at around 20:00. You will of course spend the night on the ferry and arrive well-rested on the Italian mainland the next morning. Don't miss this time in Croatia without the usual tourist hustle and bustle. This day, you will cover 331 km.
Visit the coast of Bari with MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator, because you will have the opportunity to do so after you leave the ferry on the third day of this trip. Travel with them along the Italian east coast and further south. Convince yourself of the beautiful landscape, the life of Southern Italy, and the culture there.
Southern Italy is also known as the heel of the boot. The journey will then take you through "Lecce" to "Taranto." You can take thousands more breathtaking pictures there. Every additional picture would only make you want to travel even more. You just have to experience it all yourself. Touring together in small groups and with these impressions is what brings bikers together.
Anyway, you will spend the night in Taranto on this day and will have covered another 273 km.
This day at 08:00, it'll be time again for the journey and the adventure to continue. Experience the journey with MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator through the "Garden of the Gods" in the "Pollino National Park."
There will be 291 km ahead of you today, through typical Italian mountain villages and valleys, as well as over mountains and serpentines, even in Southern Italy.
Get to know Italy from a different side. This Italy is not the Italy that you usually know from the north of Italy or, for example, from Tyrol. These will be unforgettable days.
You will spend the night in “Morano Calabro,” on the edge of the national park.
This day, you will have 249 km on the agenda, overcoming one hairpin bend after another. You will want to arrive at the port of "Villa San Giovanni" in two days at the latest. As already known, the journey is the destination, because from there, you will take the ferry to Sicily. But until you get there, you'll have to concentrate on what lies ahead of you.
This route is also challenging and is guaranteed to not be boring. Anyone can drive straight ahead, but down there, in the boot of Italy, the hairpin bends are almost comparable to the Alps. So, off you will go to Villa San Giovanni. On the way there, you will spend the night in Maida, a small, or rather tiny, place in the middle of nowhere.
Visit with MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator the island of Sicily, Mount Etna, and the ancient Greek remains.
The island of Sicily, off the coast of Southern Italy, has a long, rich, and multicultural history as one of the Mediterranean's most desirable places. For over 3,000 years, countless civilizations discovered and conquered Sicily, leaving their mark along the way.
From the ancient Greeks and Romans to the Norman and Arab rulers who sought to cultivate the Sicilian soil, the island's heritage is therefore a colorful patchwork of art, architecture, cuisine, and history, reflecting the melting pot of cultures that once called this beautiful island home.
You will take the ferry from Villa San Giovanni and after a short crossing, you will land in "Messina." After driving 275 km, you will set up camp for the night there in Taormina and explore the cultural life of Sicily together with the group.
This day, the eighth day, will be the first rest day. The plan will be to spend the whole day relaxing and unwinding. Everyone can do what they want to, such as:
Or, you can decide to join MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator on a guided tour of Mount Etna. At around 3,357 meters above sea level, it is the highest active volcano in Europe. In June 2013, UNESCO added Mount Etna to the list of World Heritage Sites.
The southeastern crater has been active again since May 13, 2022. A fissure has opened at the foot of the cone, on its north side. Since then, a lava flow has been pouring continuously into the "Valle del Bove," the huge valley on the east side of Mount Etna.
On the ninth day of the trip, the journey will continue to "Palermo," the capital of Sicily. Experience Sicily from a special side with MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator on this day's route. You will start at 08:00 and have a breathtaking 309 km ahead.
Once again, pass Mount Etna, through the 58-hectare "Parco dell'Etna" national park, founded in 1987 with caves, a famously active volcano, and a wide variety of wild animals. You'll also go right through Sicily, to the north coast with its beautiful sandy beaches.
Get to know the typical Sicilian villages, drive with MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator through the "Parco delle Madonie" national park, a spacious park with picturesque mountain ranges, medieval villages, and historic castles.
You will spend the night in Palermo today and look forward to tomorrow, as it will be a free day and will give you plenty of time to get to know Palermo better.
This day, the 10th day, will be your second rest day. This day, it’ll be time to relax and unwind again. Everyone can do what they want to, such as exploring the area on their own or lazing around and enjoying life.
However, MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator recommends exploring Palermo and the surrounding area, as Palermo is known for its long sandy beaches, extensive natural areas, and cultural highlights that have been shaped by a long and eventful history. Anyone who has visited Palermo will always be happy to return to Sicily.
Palermo is also known as the seat of the mafia. The Sicilian capital's past is accordingly dark. But today, Palermo is the safest metropolis in Italy - at least according to new statistics.
The security situation has changed since Leoluca Orlando was elected mayor in 1985. The lawyer received support in the anti-mafia war from numerous politicians, artists, and also directly from the population. At the same time, the city flourished again. There you go!
This day, you will be doing something for your general education. Even if you think you don't need it or you already know it, you will notice and easily realize that this is not always the case.
In short, on your further journey to the northeast coast to "Milazzo," you drive up into the mountains to a very special stopover. You will be on your way to "GAL Hassin - Osservatorio Astronomico Isnello."
You will be surprised by what the Italians, or especially the Sicilians, think they know about the universe that you yourself didn't know about it until then. After a shared lunch high up in the mountains, you will end your stage after 261 km in Milazzo, where you will also spend the night.
You will go back to the mainland on this day. You will set off early in the morning to the port of Messina to catch the ferry back to Villa San Giovanni on time. This day's distance will only be 181 km. This doesn't mean that you won't have any adventures on this day of the trip. No, it'll be quite the opposite, since you'll drive north along the west coast, along the Tyrrhenian Sea.
You will visit the village of Scilla, one of the most beautiful fishing villages in this region, because it is definitely worth a trip. To be honest, MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator is not sure which is the more exciting coastal road. Is it the Jadranska Magistrala, along the west coast of the Adriatic in Croatia, or is it the coastal road on the west coast of Italy along the Tyrrhenian Sea?
Go with them and find out for yourself. Learn more about these ideas. You will also have time to find everything out until you arrive at the next overnight camp, in “Vibo Marina.”
A long day lies ahead of you, with a breathtaking coastal road, then turning right again to drive into the mountains. Always in focus, you'll go further north to the "Amalfi Coast." Once again, it will be a different kind of feast for the eyes and experience, perhaps even more interesting than right now.
Slowly, you will move forward and realize that there are more beautiful beaches in Italy. Some are made of white, yellow, or even pink sand, fine-grained and light as a summer dress. In "Acquafredda," however, pebbles will press onto the soles of your bare feet, while in "Fiumicello," there are grey stones.
Lucky are those who can steer a boat and, above all, have one to explore the many small grottos in the rocks under "Maratea" and dive into the crystal clear water that changes between inky blue and turquoise.
It will be an unforgettable 235 km and an unforgettable overnight stay in "San Giovanni a Piro."
A new day will be dawning. Experience the beauty of the “Amalfi Coast” with MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator. On the 14th day, you will cover 204 km and drive ever further north, towards Naples.
The Amalfi Coast was already a popular summer residence for wealthy Romans during the Roman Empire, who built numerous villas on the coast, such as the Villa Romana Marittima in Minori. The works of art and mosaics in the villas are evidence of wealth and luxury, although such works from this period can only be found in Rome, the rest of Campania, and Barcola near Trieste.
The Amalfi Coast is located in the Campania region and forms a 50-kilometer stretch of coastline in the southern Sorrento peninsula, with breathtaking views of the Gulf of Salerno.
The coast is famous throughout the world for its natural beauty and is home to a number of important historical sites. This picture-perfect coastline stretches from Positano to Vietri and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The most famous place on the Amalfi Coast is Positano. The quiet former fishing village now attracts numerous travelers and influencers - and not without reason! Picturesque, colorful houses climb up the high rock walls in terraces and create a unique picture. You just have to see it with your own eyes - period!
This day, the 15th day, will be your third day of rest. It will be all about rest and relaxation. Everyone can do what they want, such as exploring the area on their own or lazing around and enjoying life.
Or, you can decide to go on a private boat tour with MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator to the island of Capri. They will take a short trip to Sorrento to start the boat tour to the island of Capri from there.
Experience the natural beauty of Capri with all the grottos and everything else that Capri has to offer. You can do this tour as a guided tour from Sorrento to Capri and back again. Like the day before, you will spend the night at the hotel in “Praiano.”
The destination for this day will only be 194 km away. You will drive on to "San Vitorre del Lazio," near the "Parco Regionale Roccamonfina." Perhaps, it's not a good idea to drive through the chaotic city on the Tyrrhenian Sea, "Naples," but you wouldn't want to miss out on experiencing this hustle and bustle.
You will still have enough time to visit the volcano "Vesuvius." The crater is easy to reach on foot from the parking lot. It is the only active volcano on the European mainland and is located between the Amalfi Coast and Naples, around 50 to 60 kilometers from places like Amalfi, Sorrento, and Minori, in a national park consisting of lava fields, forest areas, and orchards.
Although the last eruption in 1944 was many decades ago, Vesuvius still shows signs of activity today, which is expressed in the occasional release of vapors and volcanic gases.
You will drive through the center of Central Italy, past and through countless national parks. Fantastic landscapes and impressions lie ahead of you. The destination for the day will be "Rieti," with a daily distance of 297 km. It is the former capital of the historical region of Sabina.
The Rieti area is surrounded by a fantastically beautiful mountain backdrop, the "Sabin Mountains" and "Reatine Mountains". The city was already important in ancient times and later became a city-state and the residence of the Pope (whoever that interests).
Anyone who follows in the footsteps of Saint Francis of Assisi will also end up in the town of Rieti. The town is embedded in a beautiful landscape, with several nature reserves and numerous lakes and rivers. The peak of the "Terminillo" in particular stands out conspicuously from the mountainous landscape.
The "Lago di Ripasottile" and the "Lago Lungo" together form the "Riserva Parziale Naturale dei Laghi Lungo e Ripasottile." The largest reservoir in the region is the “Lago del Salto," which is located at an altitude of about 535 meters. The vegetation around the lake is particularly lush, and the surrounding villages exude typical Italian charm.
Unfortunately, the trip is coming to an end. You will not be taking the ferry back to Split, but rather, you will be taking advantage of the benefits of touring with your bike. You will then continue on a daily distance of 280 km to "Rimini," located directly on the Adriatic.
You'll go past the oldest republic in the world and the dwarf state of "San Marino," located in the heart of Italy between Emilia-Romagna and the Marche, near the Adriatic Coast near Rimini.
The destination for the day, however, will be Rimini. In the center of Rimini, there are historical sights and buildings from the time of the Roman Empire. Many of the buildings are still in very good condition and when you look at them, you will feel like you have been transported to another time.
Since you will be staying overnight there in Rimini, you will certainly be able to get to know Rimini's nightlife better. It'll be worth it.
A new day lies ahead of you. After a hearty breakfast, the new experience on two wheels will begin at 08:00. This day, you will continue north and later, east. The destination for this day will be "Marano Lagunre" and at the same time, it will be the last destination on Italian soil before you return to Croatia.
On the way there, you will make a stopover in "Venice." Since no one can really predict how long this extraordinary city will still exist, you will not miss a visit there. You will drive straight into Venice and park your motorcycle for a stay of several hours.
Everyone can decide for themselves how they want to spend their time in Venice: together with MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator or alone or as a couple.
During the overnight stay, you will have the opportunity to recover from the exertions of the past few days at the wellness and spa oasis of the hotel. This day's stage is 301 km.
This day, you will cross the border to Croatia again, back on the way to Split. A further 243 km lies ahead of you. The destination of this day's route will be "Sveti Juraj."
On the "Jadranska Magistrala" (HR), with its well-developed and winding roads and its fantastic views of the Adriatic Sea, the journey will continue south on the 19th day, past Rijeka and the Kvarner Bay. You will take the last few kilometers slowly and relaxedly, enjoying the journey and above all, the landscape.
Riders will also make a longer stop in "Bakar," located in the Kvarner Bay, and have lunch together before continuing on to the hotel in Sveti Juraj. Wherever they would like to, the group will simply take a short break and sit somewhere on a cliff, viewing platform, or somewhere on the beach and enjoy what lies behind them.
It's done. The last 301 km lies ahead. You will use the last few kilometers and drive along the Jadranska Magistrala, past Zadar, Šibenik, and Trogir. You will have already passed the island of Krk and all the other offshore islands. The views along this route will remain an experience forever.
When you arrive at the starting point, you will park the motorcycle and hold a closing party together with the group. Your overnight stay will be taken care of at the starting hotel.
If you already want to go home and have booked a return flight for this day, it will of course be up to you. Or, you can decide, if your time frame allows, to simply extend your stay in Split and thus on the beautiful Adriatic by a few more days. However, you should discuss this directly with the hotel.
No matter what you decide, MotoGS WorldTours - Tour Operator will definitely provide you with their airport transfer. However, if you decide to extend your stay, they will no longer be able to provide the airport transfer.
