Accommodation
Throughout the tour, you will stay at several different accommodations. On your first night, you will stay at a little guesthouse, with a lovely tropical garden at the foot of a volcano mountain. For your second night, you will stay at a guesthouse facilitated with a pool and a restaurant.
For the last night of the tour, you will have two options. You can stay in a ranger station with basic double rooms in the middle of the wildlife, or you can stay at a hotel. Kindly send Motor Adventure Bali an inquiry for more accommodation bookings.
Program
Itinerary
Day 1: Bali to Banyuwangi
Starting from the home base near Seminyak in the south of Bali, you will have a short briefing and morning snack. You will start through Canggu on narrow roads. You will drive through traditional villages and see the Balinese crafts and the real life of people living there. After a short sightseeing and break, you will ride from Tabanan to the west and across the mountains to the north coast of Bali.
You will stop for some pictures around the rice paddies, local villages, and the Balinese life. It will be a relaxed ride with less traffic but a lot of curves. You will catch many of these views on your helmet cam. Afterward, you will enjoy your lunch in a small Balinese warung. On the north side of Bali, you will follow the coast street to the ferry port to Java. It will only take an hour to reach Java Island. After a supply and photo stop in Banyuwangi, you will ride uphill on small roads to the Kawah Ijen Volcano. In the evening, you will stay in a little guest house with a lovely tropical garden at the foot of the volcano. You will have dinner as well as cold beer if you like.
Day 2: Kawah Ijen Volcano, Banyuwangi
You will wake up really early at 01:00 in the morning. After a short preparation, you will leave the guesthouse and ride to Kawah Ijen. The air will be refreshing. Your parking place is the ranger station at 1800 meters altitude. You will receive masks to protect you inside the crater from the sulfur smell. You will climb the volcano rim afterward. The path is steep but very well developed and you will not be alone.
After a 1.5 to 2-hour hike with some breaks, you will arrive at the hut of the sulfur miners. From here, you will trek the last peak to the crater rim at 2200 meters altitude on the active volcano. Inside the crater, there's sulfur flames and a blue lake. You will be able to see the miners working to break the sulfur. You will also see blue, red, or yellow flames hissing out of the earth with a sulfur vapor in the air. Around 04:00, you will leave the crater to enjoy the next highlight which is the sunrise. You will take a long rest before you go back to the ranger station.
At 07:30, you will arrive at your guesthouse and relax for a few hours and have breakfast. At noon, you will start riding. You will ride partly off-road through dense jungle with giant ferns, coffee plantations and grass-covered steppes in the highlands. Some animals are crossing the road. You visit some other volcanic craters like Kawah Wurung (without walking). In the early afternoon, you arrive the village Jambit, where you will visit an old Dutch colonial house from the 1920s.
In this region, you will meet only a few villages and people. An entirely new impression of Indonesia awaits you. In the late afternoon, you will reach a small village on the western flank of the Kawah Ijen. Your accommodation for this night is so lovely, with a pool, some waterfalls like the "little Niagara" or the hot springs nearby (just 1 kilometer away). Seat in hot basins to relax after a busy day of sightseeing and activities.
Depending on the season, you will be invited to go to a local coffee factory for a tour. If you still want more, you can visit the waterfall only 2 kilometers away from your accommodation and go for a swim there. Your dinner will be served in the restaurant from the guesthouse.
Day 3: Baluran National Park, Situbondo
Your tour will start after breakfast You will ride from Kawah Ijen and follow a rural road from the high of the plateau to Bondowoso in the low land. En-route, you will see a coffee plantation and some other great views around the volcanic mountain. Later, you will enjoy your ride in many curvy roads under the shadow of the trees. After arriving on the main road, you will witness the pure Indonesian life. You will ride north and pass Situbondo.
After a coconut refreshment in a small forest, you will ride and arrive in the east flank of the Baluran National Park. You will have lunch before you enter the park that's known as the "little Africa". You will stay here and wait for the beautiful sunset. You can see monkey, buffalo, deer, peacocks, and much more animals live in this park. The beaches, Savannah, and the volcano will be a great setting for a photoshoot.
You have two options for your overnight stay. Please advise Motor Adventure Bali which one you prefer.
First one: you will equip yourselves and stay in a ranger station with basic double rooms in the middle of the wildlife. You will cook by yourselves there and enjoy your dinner with the voices of the jungle. If you are lucky, the ranger will offer you a night safari by jeep. At sunrise, you can enter a tower with great views! It's amazing!
Second one: you will leave little Africa in the evening, it could be already dark. You will ride around 20 kilometers on main streets to your booked hotel and enjoy a fish dinner direct by the sea (other food is also offered).
Day 4: Baluran National Park to Bali
On this day, you will go back to Bali via a ferry. On your ride back to Seminyak, you will not ride on the same roads as the first day. You will pass Mundunk, Lake Buyan, Bedugul, and Lake Beratan with many stops for pictures. You will have your lunch and cafe break accompanied by the lakes and the mountains. Depends on how fast you will ride, there will be a possibility to swim in the waterfall or visit a Balinese temple. On small roads parallel to the crowded main roads, you will arrive at Motor Adventure Bali's home base late afternoon.

Honda CB 150cc Special Edition (tourer / street bike)
This bike is the new development for tours, suitable for all the travelers who want more than a scooter. Perfect for trips even with a pillion rider. Thanks to the 12,4kW / 17 PS / HP, it has enough available power in any situation. The large 12-liter tank allows a range of over 500 kilometers to be ridden! Slim, upright riding position and a comfortable seat offer a high level of comfort and nimble handling.

Location
This tour will take place around Bali, Banyuwangi, and Situbondo. The main roads are in a very good condition. Local tracks are partly in a bad condition but suitable for enduros motorcycles. The roads will be partly dirt, gravel roads, and very little traffic (except Bali). Some parts are even gravel with light sandy passages.
