Welcome to Nenà al Borgo Castello, Albergo Diffuso, located in Ciociaria, in the roman countryside. It's in the historic center of the medieval village of Pico, which joined the prestigious club of "The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy".
What is an Albergo Diffuso?
Albergo Diffuso is a new form of hospitality that aims at re-evaluating territories and enhancing local specialties. The philosophy of the Albergo Diffuso (literally "Village-Hotel"), is to offer guests rooms and/or apartments in several buildings, within the village. The rooms are thus located in several houses, very close together, and the services (reception, restaurant, breakfast room, kitchen, etc) are centralized at the antique country house, Dimora Nenà.
Guests, therefore, have a wide range of accommodations available and to choose from depending on the level of comfort of the various units, the different architectural features, and decor of the rooms, and have different prices.
Dimora Nenà
This is the main residence. Built on the medieval city walls, the antique country house maintains its historic feeling with its original floors and wood ceilings to rediscover the charm of tradition. The antique furnishings and decorations bring back the time-honored sensation of a warm welcome and hospitality. The rooms, furnished with care and with antiques, overlook the picturesque alleys of the village and enjoy a panoramic view over the green hills of the Natural Park of Aurunci Mountains.
Residenza Via Landolfi
This house, built between 1300 and 1400, is located in front of the "Dimora Nenà", in the street dedicated to the great writer Tommaso Landolfi, whose birthplace is located a few meters away. For this reason, the names of the rooms evoke some of the most famous novels written by Landolfi.
Le Delizie di Nenà
The excellent local produce, such as the tasty Marzolino (goat cheese) or the famous sausages, olives, and extra-virgin olive oil they produce, jams, homemade liqueurs, honey, and other specialties; which you can buy here or they can easily ship to your home.
La Taverna
The restaurant, located in the original core of the "City Walls of the Pico Castle", brings you back a long way, it goes back to the year 1000! Here is the wine shop where you can buy your favorite wine, which you can enjoy accompanied by some tasty local dishes.
Le Pietre Miliari
This is where they hold their cooking classes. Cooking in this highly emotional context will be a unique and unforgettable experience.
Residenza Castello Farnese
The private residence of the family. It is set in the most beautiful and scenic place of the village of Pico, just opposite the castle and its clock tower. From the terrace, the view over the village and the green hills of Monti Aurunci will leave you breathless.
Antico Casale
It is a country house, located a short distance from the village of Pico, with a beautiful ”terraced” olive grove nestled in the hills of pristine landscapes. From the olive trees, they produce an extra-virgin olive oil of exceptional quality every year. This is the oil that they use for cooking that guests can purchase at the hotel, produced by means of cold pressing.
It is on this land that they pick the lemons to produce an excellent Limoncello, the wild myrtle berries to produce Mirto, the black cherry leaves with which thy produce an exquisite Elisir, the bay leaves to produce a fragrant Laurino, walnuts to produce the bitter natural par excellence, Nocino. After dinner, guests really like tasting their homemade liqueurs, according to old jealously guarded recipes handed down from their grandmothers.
