Ron Thomson
Ron is the founder of Motorcycle Touring Spain. He is an experienced rider with 40 years of riding all kinds of bikes. He is just as comfortable on the road as he is off-road. Originally from Scotland, he has lived in Spain for 17 years with his Spanish partner, Ana. Ron is fluent in Spanish and has a vast knowledge of the local area, history, and customs.
Graham Adkins
Graham is the new manager, guide, and marketing pro. He also cleans the toilet.

"Excellent mountain region touring "
Touring through this countryside is amazing. Different routes everyday in tight twisties and long sweepers, from the valleys to high up in the Sierra Nevada. Traffic is so negligible and road surfaces are brilliant. It’s a great week of motorcycle riding Graham knows the routes so well and adjusts as necessary for the many fiestas on the calendar.

"Fabulous motorcycle experience in Andalusia, Spain"
Airport transfers were on time and the guest house, a beautiful clean house in a nice calm valley village. Graham had a perfect route planned for 3 days of riding the mountains with tons of twisted turns, scenic views, nice roads and rides along the coastline was just breathtaking. And the townspeople of Benaudalla were very friendly, the beers and tapas were too good. Riding on a GS, any experience gets better. Went in with little expectation and returned with abundance of joy,

Great tours on largely traffic- free roads at an enjoyable pace. Bike was spot on.
Stunning scenery and interesting stops.
I was there solo but apres ride beers and tapas with Graham and local expats made for interesting evenings.

Fuss free. Collected at the airport and returned , made really welcome as soon as I arrived. Great bikes on fantastic roads with breath taking scenery. Regular stops for coffee and to check to make sure everyone was okay.
Graham is a fantastic motorbike tour guide. He has a long history of motorcycle racing so really knows how to handle a bike. Safety was always the first concern. Bikes were checked daily. Riding speed was suitable for the road conditions and (mostly 😁) within the legal speed limits. Graham knew where spirited riders were safe to have some fun, but made sure there were no altercations with the Police. Graham also introduced me to many of his local friends all of whom welcomed me with open arms. They come from diverse backgrounds but most of whom were bikers. And for a couple of runs we were either accompanied by friends or we met up at a restaurant, which also added to the warm friendliness of the trip.
All in all it was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend to anyone. I’m also very much looking forward to going back.

"Thrilling rides and stunning landscapes"
Ron and Graham are fantastic guides who know the roads of the Alpujarras like the back of their hands. They are both incredibly friendly, easy going guys who made me feel very welcome and relaxed. It seemed that nothing was too much trouble for them.
I found the accommodation to be very clean, comfortable and well appointed with a good sized bathroom and well stocked kitchen.
The rides are truly amazing. Twisting and turning roads that climb higher and higher, giving stunning views over the mountains and landscape below. Turn after turn, one after another, demanded my full concentration and commitment, but I loved every second of it.
I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this tour and would highly recommend it.

"Adalusian Trails"
Four days of trails with a nice variety of scenery so no two days were the same. The guiding was excellent and, at the end of the day, the village of Vellez de Benaudalla had plenty of places to eat and drink. Ron made sure everyone was sorted out with bikes that suited and, as my flights were slightly out of whack, I got in an extra tour day on the road.

I had really good week riding around the area with Ron. I had the opportunity to try a couple of different bikes. He had several to choose from. The whole set- up is great. The accomodations were really nice. Easy with a kitchen and plenty of food to make breakfast. I would definitely go again.

"Perfect experience"
The area is perfect for both tarmac and trails. I was having so much fun on the trails that i almost forgot to appreciate how good the roads where on transport route to next trail. Ron is the perfect guide who gives you just enough info for you to be able to go out on the trails and just figure out the rest yourself i learned a lot over the 3 days i was riding and it was just perfect. I am most definatly coming back when the opportunity shows itself.

If you are considering this adventure don't hesitate and book it. It won't disappoint.
Ron has been the best guide and only with many years experience can you find the places we've been through. On the trail riding you get to do everything really as you will connect many trails with endless sweeping roads in the area. From smooth tarmac to narrow trails to tennis ball sized pebbles you get to experience so much.
I would recommend to take a GoPro or onboard camera. It will allow you to capture it all as it's beautiful and you are riding over areas it's not easy to stop. Ron has been incredibly generous and we have covered so much in two days. If you want to make the most out of trail riding I would suggest you learn the basics so you will be comfortable and get the most out of the bikes and have the best time. Ron is very welcoming and generous. Thank you again.

If you want to see the real Spain on a bike, this is the tour for you! Ron is a fantastic tour guide. I came alone on this tour and was made to feel very welcome. Ron was so encouraging and just super supportive in helping me improve some of my skills. His knowledge of the beautiful Granada area is second to none. I saw some breathtaking scenery and it’s a tour I will never forget. The accommodation was perfect for my needs. In fact everything was perfect! I highly reccomend this to anyone especially coming alone and may not have a lot of experience in certain aspects of riding especially trail riding. Everything! the accommodation was cool as typically solid walls, hard floors etc. Very comfortable, clean and well equipped and with a well stocked kitchen for a DIY breakfast, perfect! Ron is a really nice guy and the perfect host. Tour was brilliant, location was ideal, a few mins from plenty of Tappas bars, the roads and views were breathtaking! Do it! Do it now! book a short break in the Andalusian Mountains and spend a few days with Ron, his bikes, which were good and experience his guide and hospitality. Exceptional, I'll definitely be coming back soon. I went on my own and met some great guys, had a laugh and came away with some memories and some new friends.

An absolutely amazing experience, made so by the quite stunning roads & brilliant tour guide, Ron.
The winding mountain roads are a joy to ride on, and offer breath taking views around every corner, and its perfectly safe because they are so well maintained. Plus there is hardly any traffic!!
You'll stop for coffee and lunch along the way, enjoying the local cuisine at a great price too.
Of an evening you have the option of having a cheeky beer or two, and sampling the individual portions of tapas with every drink!
The village you'll be staying in has everything you may need and the accommodation is great. Clean & tidy with spacious rooms and a fridge full of juice & cheese and ham for your breakfast.
Ron is a great laugh and can't do enough for you. He's so passionate about his business and knows his stuff.
Oh and the bikes. Wow! He has quite a fleet that is still growing, all personally serviced and maintained. By the way Ron, I'd buy the KTM 950 Adventure next if I was you!
There are BMW GS 650's and an 800, an Africa Twin, Royal Enfield's to name a few.
I can't speak highly enough of this trip and all it has to offer at a very reasonable price, and is one I would definitely do again.

"Amazing first motorbike adventure"
I had an amazing first motorbike adventure, thanks to Ron.
As a beginner, I only had limited motorbike experience before I went on the trip and the great tuition from Ron helped me to build my confidence on the bike so I can enjoy a great experience on both road and off-road terrain.
Ron has a good knowledge of the country and can tailor each trip to your individual requirements and abilities. The roads we took were awesome always with incredible scenarios and coffee and lunch break in various interesting places.
The whole stay was amazing thanks to the wonderful accommodation and excellent services - from email communication, transfer from and to the airport, all equipment in great condition, to drinks at the end of the day in local pubs.
It was a fun trip that I never forget and will definitely be coming back for another adventure :)

"More than expected"
Ron, his facilities, bikes and specially the trips are awesome! As a complete beginner, Ron gave me all the tips to handle the bikes and go through many diferent places. From shore roads, to mountains and specially off-roads. Ron is a true local who knows all the tracks that certainly many people don't.
