Hermann Schwarzenboeck
Mr. Hermann also known as Lung Chang, is the founder and General Manager of PHRAO OUTDOOR ADVENTURE Co.,Ltd. The big (not tall) Bavarian origin is living in Chiang Mai and Phrao since 2009. He started his career as tour operator and guide for motorcycle tours in 1996, leading tours in Austria, Northern Italy, Slovenia and Croatia for HIT and different motorbike magazines. Your tour leader on every enduro/ offroad tour. "My passion is enduro riding and getting our guests in touch with the locals and their life."
Keng Papot
KENG is our licensed tourguide and co-instructor for enduro tours, working as a guide since 10 years. He is Karen Hilltribe, born in Myanmar, grown up in a village in the mountains south of Chiang Mai. A smart and very friendly guy, who likes to get our customers in touch with his culture.
Kachana Kreeuthai
She is also known as Toy and she is our always funny driver. She will pick you up from your hotel in Chiang Mai and drive you back in town after your tour.

"Awesome"
Had an amazing time. I hoped for a lot and Hermann certainly delivered. Amazing bikes, top quality and well maintained. Great routes and really nice hotel locations, very family run and somewhere you wouldnt visit as a tourist. Very fair price when you see all the food, equipment, fuel and hotels included. As an experienced rider I still felt challenged and dont understand how Hermann is so fast sometimes ;).

Very beautiful sceneries during the ride, enjoyed the off road sections as well. Hermann is an excellent guide, knows the area very well, and able to choose the easy trails for me, being a beginner to off road riding. Bike was well maintained, no issues throughout the ride.
Accommodation and food was great during the overnight stay too. Overall, enjoyed the 2 days ride. Would be back again maybe for longer rides. Definitely recommend Hermann to anyone thinking about booking motorcycle tours in Chiangmai.

"Amazing experience "
Don’t even know where to start. The tour was perfectly organized, the bikes were in great condition (you can really feel confident riding them), seen some amazing scenery and the Thai countryside.
Overall one of the best motorbike tours I’ve ever done!!!

"Thai five day tour"
Thailand and its people are lovey. It's great to get into the mountains and villages to get more of a feel for the place - away from the tourist traps. The trails were fine, although not really technically challenging - that's not a criticism as such as long as you know what you're signing up for. The accommodation, on the whole was fine, but see comments below. The lunch stops were at local and pretty basic cafes. Personally I like that, it gets me closer to the life of the locals, but don't expect fine dining.

"Enduro tour"
A nice mix of sealed, unsealed and dirt roads leading to endless views, remote villages and great food.
Herman has excellent local knowledge both of roads and history.
Many laughs and story’s from Herman. He knows so many locals who all seem to find him a very funny guy.

"Fantastic "
Herman was/is a top shelf guide. Not only in taking us through the jungle, but when the riding day was done, we had awesome accommodation. Beers afterwards, we learned about the history/geology/ and maybe a bit about about Herman too. Definitely a must if coming to Thailand. Thank you Herman

The tour with Hermann was incredible, surpassed all expectations. He is VERY knowledgeable of the region and terrain, needless to say the entire are is drop dead gorgeous and has a variety of sceneries and terrains for motorcycling. Jungles, rivers, clay, dirt, paved road, valleys, mountains, grass, rock... everything. I have to admit I underestimated the physicality of the experience, this is NOT a motorcycle- sight seeing tour, this is a VERY physically challenging enduro tour. Hermann will not push you past your limits, he is very reasonable and will give you your money's worth. The motorcycles are in great condition, it challenges your riding skills if off road is not your main style, but overall incredibly rewarding and peaceful, even if you're drained by the end of the day haha. Also, the lodging and meals are EXCELLENT, beautiful, individual cabins or bungalows, and local meals that are beyond delicious and varied. Can't praise the experience enough, highly recommended and hopefully will do again sometime next year.

"4 day trip"
We've done the 4 day trip around Phrao, Chiang Dao and Pai. We rode beautiful off road trails at the right level for us. The bikes were in perfect condition. Our guide Hermann is a really nice guy and he speaks german, english and thai. Always making jokes with the locals. He can also tell a lot about the Thai and the environment which is a really big plus. I'm gonna miss our beers and daily stops at the coffeeshop. Cheers!

"Abenteuerlich-Abwechslungsreich-Naturspektakel"
Ich fand die Tour in das Outback von Chiang Mai und besonders der Phrao Gegend Hammer. Die saftig grünen Dschungelpassagen und Dörfer die du durchquerst kannst du sonst nicht entdecken, einfach nur beeindruckend. Die Übernachtung oberhalb des Phraotal mit überwältigendem Ausblick vergisst Mann/Frau nicht so schnell. Hermann kurvte mich sicher und top orientiert durch diese beeindruckende Gegend zu einem echt fairen Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Die 250er Kawasaki KLX- ich gebs zu, ich steh auf bissi mehr Power - ist top gewartet und lässt sich sehr geschmeidig durchs Gelände manovrieren. Ist somit für Beginner und Fortgeschrittene Leute ein zuverlässiges Reisegefährt.
Also wer überlegt ne Enduro Runde Nähe Chiang Mai zu starten ist bei Hermann und Phrao Outdoor Adventure's perfekt aufgehoben

"2 day tour around Phrao/north of Chiang Mai with Hermann"
I enjoyed the adventure and the sights with a good mix of different riding surfaces from tar,concrete,gravel and clay to sand (with a good dose of potholes with and without water). Hermann kept the tour flexible to my level of (in)experience and is a very experienced rider so you feel confident with him there. Hermann also adds to the fun with some interesting stories about his experiences in Thailand. A fun trip which is recommended if you want to get off the tourist route, have some adventure and see some beautiful sights!
