Dr. Venkatachalapathy is an authority researcher in yoga. He is an asan (guru) in the Civa yoga tradition of the Citters. His specialty as a professor in yoga is both the educational syllabus of a university and the traditional kurukulam system of education. He has taught over 300,000 students in the science of yoga of which a number of them have done their ‘doctorate’ as research scholars in yoga and yoga therapy from the university and are now well-established in their subject of yoga. His specialty is the mastery of the Tirumantiram, an ancient Citter text given by Tirumular Citter.
