Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu
You will meet and assist by Parikrama Treks representative. You will have a motorbike test ride on the second day.
Days 2 and 3: Sightseeing and Tibet visa processing
Today, you will have sightseeing in Kathmandu valley. They will provide a short briefing about the trip. You will have a motorbike test ride on the second day.
Day 4: Ride Kathmandu to Rasuwagadi (150 kilometers / 93 miles, 7 hours)
Today is one of the long journeys as you try to reach the border of Nepal and Tibet. The road is more off-road than one can imagine.
Day 5: Ride Rasuwagadi to Kerung (50 kilometers / 31 miles, 2 hours)
Today, cross the Nepal Tibet border. Take a ride to the first city Kerung, Tibet.
Day 6: Ride Kerung to Drongpa town (101 kilometers / 63 miles, 3 hours)
Today, take a scenic ride to Drongpa. It is a tiny, dusty town on the main road from Saga to Darchen
Day 7: Ride Drongpa to Lake Mansarovar (255 kilometers / 158 miles, 6 hours)
Today, you will first discover the biggest and fresh lake at a high altitude.
Day 8: Ride from Lake Manasarovar to Paryang (270 kilometers / 168 miles, 4 hours)
Today, retrace your route to Paryang by crossing Mayum La pass. You will cross through many bridges on the way.
Day 9: Ride from Paryang to Saga (250 kilometers / 155 miles, 4 hours)
Start the ride to Saga via Dzongba, a recent settlement. You will, then, check in to the guest house and be free to relax or explore.
Day 10: Ride Saga to Shigatse (450 kilometers / 280 miles, 8 hours)
Today, cross several high passes decorated with Buddhist prayer flags. You will also see how Tibetan nomads live, beautiful lakes, and mountains. Later, you will visit the Tashilampo monastery.
Day 11: Ride Shigatse to Lhasa. (360 kilometers / 224 miles, 5 hours)
Today, have a short visit to Khumbula Stupa and Phalkhor Monastery. Then drive to Lhasa via Yamdrok Lake, and over high passes of Kora la (5010 meters) and Kambala (4794 meters).
Day 12: Rest day
The guide will lead you to visit major attractions. Visit major historical places in Lhasa. You will visit Potala Palace, Jokhang temple, and walk around the old city of Lhasa Barkhor Bazaar.
Day 13: Ride Lhasa to Gyantse (265 kilometers / 165 miles, 5 hours)
On this day, ride along with fantastic views of the turquoise blue waters. Yamdrok is a manmade colorful lake. Take a ride through Kambala Pass (4890 meters), Yamdrok Lake, and Karola (5030 meters). Visit Palchok Monastery and Khumbum Stupa.
Day 14: Ride Gyantse to Sakya (300 kilometers / 186 miles, 5 hours)
The route today is straightforward but scenic at the same time. Ride along the Yarlung Tsangpo (Brahmaputra River).
Day 15: Ride Sakya to Rongbuk (295 kilometers / 183 miles, 5 hours) - Hike to Everest Base Camp
Today is a scenic ride to Rongbuk through the beautiful Tibetan countryside. Ride through the Tibetan countryside crossing via Lalungla pass.
Day 16: Ride Everest Base Camp to Tingri (80 kilometers / 50 miles, 4 hours)
After breakfast, pay a visit to Everest Base Camp which lies at 5200 meters if missed the day before. Follow the dirt road south along with the Dzakar Chu (river).
Day 17: Motorbike back to Kerung (230 kilometers / 143 miles, 6 hours)
Today, take a ride all the way back to Kerung. Today, celebrate your last night together with the Tibetan guide.
Day 18: Motorbike back to Kathmandu (124 kilometers / 77 miles, 8 hrs)
Take a ride downhill to the Nepal-Tibet border. After all the immigration formality, ride back to Kathmandu via Shyaprubes.
Day 19: Departure
