Difficulty level

Manaslu Circuit Trek is considered moderate to strenuous in terms of difficulty. The Manaslu Trekking starts from the lower altitude of 700 meters to a higher altitude of 5106 meters at Larke La Pass. Manaslu trek is considered a harder trek as compared to the Annapurna Circuit Trek and Everest Base Camp trek.

Even for seasoned trekkers, some sections of the trails can be difficult. You’ll be walking on sloppy, rugged, and steep trails. The roads are rough and dusty since many areas of Manaslu are still remote. Manaslu Circuit Trek would be difficult for the first few days of the trails because the routes are steep and narrow.

When you cross several suspension bridges over the Budhi Gandaki River, the trails will be breezy. The main difficulty of Manaslu Trek is the rise in its altitude for which every trekker needs enough preparation. The altitude mountain sickness may occur to anyone while trekking at high altitudes. Hence, being well-versed in altitude sickness can only enhance your trekking experience.

Prepare the itinerary including at least 2 days of acclimatization day. Hiking up slowly, hydrating yourself, or having medicine (consult the doctors) is the only way to tackle AMS in Manaslu Circuit Trek.
