Location

Exploring the terrain of a land is best done on a motorcycle and Nepal is a country with innumerable types of terrain. Nepal is also where the ice cold, mighty Himalayas meet the lush green tropical region of the Terai plains.

Nepal is a popular destination for motorcyclist around the world as it offers views of the magnificent Himalayas, colorful and vibrant cultures, ancient temples and monasteries, jungle safari in search of the elusive tiger and more.

This drive is one of the ultimate drives in the rain shadow part of the wind-swept desert landscape of the Himalayas with views of implausible gorges, high passes and enormous vistas passing through authentic Tibetan villages, barren ridges, eroded cliffs and Moraine valleys. Its landscape is unrivaled for it has a stupendous wilderness, pristine scenery, snow capped peaks, spectacular monasteries and caves.

You’ll go to places like Muktinath, cross the longest hanging bridge in the world in Kushma, and also visit the jungle of Chitwan – a unique ecosystem where you will go on safari to have a chance to spot the Nepalese big 5: Elephant, tiger, (one-horned) rhino, gaur, and clouded leopard – from the backs of elephants!

In the heart of the Himalayas, this motorcycle tour will take you along the most scenic tracks and roads of Upper Mustang. It won’t be all easy and you can expect some technical sections, sand, and a lot of potholes as you make your way through the mountains.

Chinese influence is growing fast though, bringing along major road building projects. Therefore, the window of opportunity to enjoy the real, authentic, and raw Mustang is slowly closing. Eight of the world’s 8,000 meter peaks are in Nepal.

Expect a scenery like no other, as you ride surrounded by these giant mountains. You also will have more than a touch of local culture with 1,000 year old monasteries and traditional village visits.
