Arrival day. No activity.
After waking up at 6:00 AM, you will head to the banks of the River Ganga for a yoga session on the Ganga Ghat, followed by a holy bath in the river. Afterward, enjoy a delicious breakfast at the Ashram. Post-breakfast, explore Rishikesh's famous landmarks, such as Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, and Janki Setu. Return to your retreat center for a nutritious vegetarian lunch. After some rest, visit the Ganga Aarti ceremony in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at your Rishikesh Ashram.
After an early yoga class and breakfast, you will drive to Karanprayag. En route, you will visit famous market places and temples. You will explore the ancient Devprayag, one of the confluences of the five sacred Prayags, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers meet and form the holy Ganges. Devprayag is often referred to as the birthplace of the Ganges and holds significant religious importance. You will also visit the famous Dhari Devi Temple, dedicated to Goddess Kali, where it is believed the stone-carved deity changes its face as the day progresses. Lunch on the way, followed by a small meditation session upon arrival. Dinner and overnight stay at Karanprayag (Homestay).
After yoga and breakfast, you will embark on a 4 kilometers hike to Aamsodh, a beautiful village in the Garhwal region. Here, you will experience Garhwali mountain cuisine, culture, heritage, and enjoy a bonfire in the evening. This Garhwal Village tour will give you a close look at the region's temples and the way of life in the mountains. After the yoga session and dinner, you will stay overnight in the village (Home of Retreat Host, Suraj).
After an early breakfast and yoga session, you will drive to Chopta Valley. Upon arrival, you will begin the trek to Tungnath and Chandrashila Peaks, which hold the highest Shiva temple in the world. Tungnath is located at an elevation of 3680 meters above sea level. The trek is 6 kilometers uphill, passing through lush green meadows and snow (in winter), offering a spectacular view of snow-capped peaks. After visiting Tungnath Temple, you will head to Chandrashila Peak, 1 kilometer further. You will return to Chopta, do some yoga and meditation, followed by dinner. Overnight stay at Chopta in tents.
After an early yoga session and breakfast, you will begin your 4 kilometers trek to Deoria Tal, passing through dense Rhododendron forests filled with wildflowers and ferns. According to mythology, this is the lake where the Pandavas were stopped by a Yaksha and had to answer his questions before drinking its water. Deoria Tal, also known as Indra Sarovar, is believed to be the lake where the gods bathed. The trek takes about 2 to 3 hours. Upon arrival, you will set up tents near the lake for an overnight stay.
After yoga and breakfast, you will trek back and drive to Triyuginarayan Temple. Upon arrival, you will conduct a yoga session and enjoy dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Triyuginarayan Temple is situated at an altitude of 1,980 meters above sea level and is a renowned Hindu pilgrimage site in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. According to legend, this is the place where Lord Shiva and Goddess Sati were married at the Brahmashila. The temple is considered the exact spot on Earth where the divine wedding took place.
From 06:00 until 07:30, enjoy a yoga session. After an early breakfast, you will explore the Triyuginarayan Temple and begin your journey back to Rishikesh. Lunch will be served en route. Upon arrival, take some rest followed by a group dinner and a celebration at the retreat center to mark the successful completion of the retreat.
From 7:00 to 8:30 AM, there will be a final yoga session, followed by a delicious breakfast. The farewell ceremony will take place at 12:00 PM.
Shubham began practicing yoga in 2019. Discovering his natural aptitude, he quickly progressed to become a yoga asana teacher. He has training in Traditional Hatha yoga. He has completed B.A. in yogic science from Uttarakhand University in Haridwar. He also has learned and practiced under the guidance of many renowned yoga gurus in Rishikesh. Although his asana skills have earned him recognition, Shubham's teaching includes mindfulness and the intention to form a complete practice. He incorporates mantras, meditation, and relaxation into his classes to create a balance of body and mind.
Monika Ji began practicing yoga in 2015. Discovering her natural aptitude, she quickly progressed to becoming a yoga pranayama and meditation teacher. She has training in traditional Hatha yoga and pranayama. She has M.A. in yogic science from Uttarakhand Sanskrit University in Haridwar.

Triyuginarayan Temple is a Hindu temple located in the Triyuginarayan village in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand. The ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Its fame is credited to the legend of the god Shiva’s marriage to goddess Parvati witnessed by Vishnu at this venue and is thus a popular pilgrimage center. A special feature of this temple is a perpetual fire that burns in front of the temple. The flame is believed to burn from the times of the divine marriage. Thus, the temple is also known as Akhand Dhuni temple.
