A hiking yoga holiday in Himalaya can be just the thing that you need when you want to improve your moods and fill your heart with inspiration. During this Retreat, you will be staying at the hotel for 5 nights and another one night you will be staying at a camp near the lake in Green Meadow. You can choose to have a private or twin Shared double accommodation for this retreat.
After breakfast at Retreat Centre (Rishikesh), you will meet your instructor and then you will be transferred to Ukhimath via Devprayag (confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi and Rudraprayag (confluence of the Alaknanda and Mandakini River). Arrival at Ukhimath will be in the evening. You will check in at the hotel, have dinner, meditation, and overnight stay. Ukhimath is situated at an altitude of 1370 meters / 4500 feet above sea level .
Ukhimath is the winter seat of Kedarnath, as well as the winter home of the priest who is appointed for the worship. After the Kedarnath temple ( Lord Shiva Temple ) closes for the winter, a movable image of Kedarnath (Lord Shiva Temple ) is brought in procession to Ukhimath, where it resides until the Kedarnath temple (Lord Shiva Temple) reopens in late April or early May.
In the early morning, you can see snow-capped Himalayan ranges. From 6:00 to 8:00 a.m., there will be a yoga class. After your yoga class, enjoy your delicious breakfast at 8:30 a.m. After breakfast, pack your bag and get ready for a drive of approximately 40 minutes which will take you to Sari Village (Traditional Himalayan Village).
From here you will start the trek to Deoria Tal through the dense forest of Rhododendron along with wildflowers and ferns. The trek will take 2 to 3 hours. Upon arrival at Deoria Tal, you set out the tents near a Himalayan Lake for an overnight stay. From 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., there will be a meditation class, dinner will be at 7:30 p.m. and at 8:30 p.m. lights will be off.
In the morning from 6:00 to 7:00 a.m. enjoy a yoga class in the lap of Himalayas, then after having your breakfast start trek to Chopta through dense forest and meadows. It is a 12-kilometer trek. In the afternoon upon arrival at Chopta enjoy your lunch with a mesmerising 360-degree view of snow-covered Himalayan peaks.
In the evening, explore the beauty of Chopta. After that from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., there will be a meditation class, dinner will be at 7:00 p.m.and at 8:30 p.m lights will be off.
From 6:00 to 7:00 a.m. enjoy a yoga class. After an early breakfast, start your trek to Tungnath which is highest Shiva temple in the world. Tungnath is situated at the height of 3680 meters above the sea level. The trek is 3-kilometres upward and en-route you will find lush green meadows.
You can witness a wide range of snow-capped Himalayas. Upon arriving, pay a visit to Tungnath Temple. After resting for a while, you can head out for Chandrashila peak, which is a kilometer away from Tungnath. Later, you will trek back to Chopta and then drive one hour to Rudraprayag for dinner and overnight stay.
From 6:00 to 7:00 a.m. enjoy a yoga class, therefore an early breakfast. Drive back to Rishikesh. After some rest at 8:00 p.m there will be a group dinner and celebration at the Retreat centre on the successful completion of the retreat.
At 8:30 a.m, there will be a group breakfast. At 12:00 p.m., you will say farewell to the group.
Yogi Arvind is a certified and Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) from Yoga Alliance USA. He teaches Hatha, Hatha flow, and multi-style yoga. He is a very simple person with a high state of intelligence and a very gentle soul. Everyone loves his true teaching and true nature. He was born in Rishikesh, in the holy place, and he has been doing yoga for the last four years. He is a yoga lover and he has also been teaching for the last three years in various yoga schools or personal workshops. He also has a diploma in Ayurveda treatments and teachings and is now doing his masters in yoga.
