Start a deep journey into your heart whilst you experience an authentic and fun yoga community where you can be yourself, relax, and celebrate life. Samma Karuna is an international school of self-realization and spiritual heart of South East Asia. Running throughout the year, this program has been created for people who are called to learn to live a happier, more fulfilled and enriched life, based on principles of self-development, acceptance, and celebration.
Samma Karuna provides three types of bungalow for you according to your requirements. By default, all accommodation provided is type C, but you may decide to upgrade for an additional cost. The accommodation is provided inside the school. On the event of no availability at the time of your booking, accommodation might be provided in one of the hotels next door to the school (beach front). All of the rooms have their own private bathrooms.

This retreat includes social, active, and still meditations, daily yoga classes, expressive techniques based on conscious movement and music, Cathartic techniques, pranayama, insights to Tantra, non-dogmatic lectures on self-development, compassionate sharing, and mindfulness practice.
Samma Karuna’s yoga is gentle, spiritual, and therapeutic, suitable both for beginners and experienced practitioners. It incorporates the basis of Hatha yoga with Vinyasa flow and mindful Ujjayi pranayama allowing the whole process of practice to become mindful and healing.
Qigong is a practice of mastering Qi in the body (life force energy) through rhythmic breathing, slow and sometimes rapid movement, static poses which are held for a period of time, and deep focus. It has its roots in Chinese medicine and martial arts, dating back some 4,000 years.
It is an active meditation in which you use rhythm, awareness, and an intuitive state which are typical qualities of many types of meditation within dancing to reconnect with yourselves and celebrate life.
Most famous social meditation of Samma Karuna. It is not happy people who are thankful, it is thankful people who are happy. In this love meditation, you will explore the art of seeing light in each other and within yourselves as a true path for a more thankful and happy life.
You will learn fifteen stages intense cathartic meditation inspired by humaniversity AUM meditation and Osho’s AUM marathon. This is a three-and-a-half-hour journey of opening up to your emotions, reconnecting with your body and celebrating life.
As a school of self-realization, Samma Karuna's main concern is to help their students finding an authentic and long-lasting happiness. The awakening lectures are based on experiential exercises, time for reflection, sharing, music, and meditation.

Based on non-violent communication, you learn how to share from your heart, share your vulnerabilities to the group, and have the courage to be just yourselves. In this process, you take responsibility for your emotions and balance whilst you understand that what makes you vulnerable actually make you beautiful.

Tantra helps you to realize the divine beauty you all have within. In this special events, you will use the power of breath, movement, and touch to connect with yourselves and others in a fun, loving, and playful way.
You gather every day to meditate together. Vipassana, as taught by S. N. Goenka, is a traditional still meditation which is 2500 years old and considered to be the meditation used by Gautama Buddha to gain enlightenment. All levels are welcome, just bring a respectful and loving energy to the class. If you haven’t meditated before, Samma Karuna may introduce you to Anapana meditation technique to get you started.
Ishi is the founder and lead teacher of Samma Karuna. He has been teaching Tantra for eight years and practicing for over 12 years. He is also an experienced Vipassana meditator and creator of a number of social meditations (including Samma Karuna AUM mediation, Tree of Harmony meditation, and Shower of love mediation among others). He is a certified Taoist instructor having studied with master Mantak Chia in Tao Garden. He also has a background in dance therapy, having studied Biodanza, and the creator of BioDevelopment.
Aliona started her spiritual journey 8 years ago practicing yoga and meditation. In 2012 she met her meditation and reiki Master Mika and her Guru Swamiji, founder of Om Reiki Family Trust. She spent two years helping them in Om Reiki ashrams and centers in Russia, France and India, learning different types of meditation, mind/body awareness, pranayama and healing techniques. Aliona moved to India in 2014 where she was staying with the Osho community in Pune. There she facilitating different Osho active meditations and practiced Reiki. Samma Karuna is located in front of the beaches of Koh Phangan, a paradisiac island in the Gulf of Thailand. The accommodation is nestled amongst palm trees, beautiful beaches, and jungle landscapes with stunning mountain views. Thong Sala city center is only a 15-minute drive away. Crossing the street from the school, you will find an ATM.
Also you will be able to enjoy "Art Café" - a very famous and cozy coffee shop. The shopping villa Srithanu is just a 5-minute walk away and there you can find supermarkets, a recreational aquatic center as well as restaurants serving both local and international food.
The location of Samma Karuna is also perfect to enjoy the most popular tourist attractions of Koh Phangan. You can experience popular attractions such as diving, trekking, visiting the Thong Sala night market, enjoying Thai cooking classes, dip in the pools, taking a massage shower, resting in beautiful beaches with incredible sunsets, discovering waterfalls, and being amazed by beautiful natural landscapes!

Please book your flight to arrive at Samui Airport (USM).
This is the nearest airport from Koh Phangan. A connecting ferry will have to be taken from Koh Samui to Koh Phangan.
However, this airport is not an international airport. Between Bangkok and Koh Samui, there are many daily services run by Bangkok Airways with flying time about 50 minutes.
You can also book your flight to arrive at Surat Thani International Airport (URT). Air Asia flies from Bangkok to Surat Thani daily. The flying time is about 50 minutes. The transfer from Surat Thani International Airport (URT) to Donsak ferry port is by coach or taxi and takes about one and a half hours. At Donsak port, you transfer to the Raja ferry to Koh Phangan which takes three hours. Whilst the overall journey is longer than flying directly to Koh Samui, it can be cheaper to fly via Surat Thani, depending on the time of year.
There are many bus services from Bangkok to Koh Phangan. Most of these are sleeper buses. They can be booked from travel agencies in Bangkok or by going to the central bus station (Sia Thai). The journey takes about 10 hours to Donsak, the ferry port for boats going to Koh Phangan. From Donsak, the journey takes around three hours to Koh Phangan. Usually, the ferry is included in the price of the bus.
You can take a ferry which leaves Koh Samui at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m from the Seatran pier. The Seatran pier is located near the airport, approximately a 10-minute drive. Besides, you can also take a ferry from the Lompraya pier at 8 a.m., 11.15 a.m., 12.30 p.m., and 5 p.m. The Lompraya pier is located 50 minutes from the airport. Please take this into consideration when booking the rest of your journey. Ferries arrive in Koh Phangan at Thong Sala Pier.
Trains leave Bangkok several times daily and the journey time is about 12 hours. Sleeping booths are available for some services. Leaving the train at Surat Thani, the transfer by coach or taxi from Surat Thani station to Donsak Pier takes about one and a half hours. From Donsak, the ferry journey takes three hours to Koh Phangan.
There are 2 companies that run luxury coach services from Bangkok to Chumphon, which takes about 6 hours. At Chumphon, you transfer to a large express boat that stops at Koh Tao before arriving at Koh Phangan. The boat journey from Chumphon to Koh Phangan takes about 2 and a half hours.
Local taxis are available from the pier. Please inform the taxi to go to Samma Karuna Srithanu. Please print out the instructions in Thai to give to the taxi driver. This will avoid any unnecessary delay and frustration. Taxis are approximately 200-300 THB per person.
