After an enjoyable morning ride, you make a pit stop at lunchtime to rest your legs and re-energize before continuing to the quaint city of Chanthaburi.
Today, you take a ride to explore the stunningly beautiful town of Chanthaburi and its surrounding agricultural landscape. The first stop was the Catholic quarter, where we enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and took in some of the local cultures. Afterward, you make your way to the morning market which provide you with a unique experience to sample some freshly made snacks and a traditional style tea.
You then continue your ride along the peaceful backroads, taking in the breathtaking sights of fruit orchards including mangosteen, rambutan and longkon trees gracefully dotting the landscape. The serene atmosphere of the journey is simply mesmerizing as it allows you to truly appreciate nature's beauty.
Today, you will take a transfer in the van, where you will bid farewell to your Thai team and be warmly welcomed by your delightful Cambodian team at the Thailand/Cambodia border.
Then start biking through the quiet backroads, a great way to see the real Cambodia. You may be welcomed by friendly local children along the way who will be delighted to greet you as you go. Your journey will then continue to Battambang town where you can finally check into your hotel after an enjoyable day of exploration.
This morning, you cycle to Neo-Khmer buildings as well as colonial structures, including the Sala Khaet (the governor’s residence). Stop on a bridge over the Sanger River and admire the architectural remains of old shops, colonial mansions, and crumbling pagodas lining the banks.
Enjoy the scenic surroundings with palm-lined country roads and lush rice fields. Learn some Cambodian words from your guide. Meet families whose generations work together to make rice paper, rice noodles, banana chips, dried fruit, rice wine, and the famous Battambang rice cake. After finishing this morning’s ride, you will be transferred for 4 hours to Siem Reap.
Today, the bike tour takes you on unpaved roads through rural villages. You cycle on a quiet backroad to the temple of Banteay Samre. From there, it goes back on unpaved roads through attractive villages, along with rice fields, and to the temple of Banteay Srei, which is located outside the actual temple city and is made of pink sandstone.
The roads are peaceful, narrow, and very pretty all the way to Banteay Srei. There are plenty of beautiful and real country views to see along the way as you cycle past the local markets, schools, villages, and Buddhist temples.
Taking a water break under the shade of the tree before we reach Banteay Srei, which is known as the Citadel of Women, this red sandstone temple is one of Angkor’s most significant structures as its walls are decorated with elaborate carvings, which have been preserved remarkably well.
This morning, you will be thrilled to embark on an exciting bicycle tour at 9:00 a.m. and explore the stunning Tonle Sap Trail with its unique sights of life on the floating village. Along the way, your knowledgeable guide will take you to explore the local farms and engage in various activities that bring you closer to understanding the everyday lives of Cambodian villagers. You can experience a glimpse into their culture, history, and traditions which is sure to be an unforgettable journey.
Afterward, take a short cruise to Kampong Phluk to see the floating villages, where you have an opportunity to learn about life on the water. Tonle Sap Lake is the largest lake in Southeast Asia and offers a unique way of life for those living on Cambodia’s Tonle Sap Lake, which is recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Today, you take a short transfer to Angkor Wat in time to see the sunrise. Your guide will take you to the best spots to watch the colorful sunrise. Then, go through the Angkor central complex and learn about the history and symbolism of Angkor Wat.
Once you have discovered Angkor Wat, you will enjoy breakfast just outside the temple area in peaceful surroundings. Afterward, proceed with the bike tour down the trails behind Angkor Park. Follow tracks that take you through small villages and see how the locals go about their daily lives.
As you explore more of the Angkor Archaeological Park, you will continue to uncover many other sites such as Angkor Thom, Bayon, Ta Prohm temple and many other lesser-known temples embedded deep within the jungle trails.
