The Posada is a 16th-century building stylishly and exquisitely decorated in a contemporary style. The studios have en-suite bathrooms, a kitchen, a terrace, underfloor heating and air conditioning, a television, and Wi-Fi. Yoga and meditation classes

This yoga and cooking holiday offers you daily yoga and meditation classes led by José Manuel Ponce, a registered osteopath and yoga teacher for more than three decades. You will work in small groups of six, integrating classic yoga postures, dynamic movement, and mindfulness informed by modern science for a yoga practice 100% focused on your needs and goals.

Retreat itinerary and activities

Start your day with a soothing and invigorating yoga class incorporating classic postures, dynamic movement, breath work, and guided relaxation and meditation. Then enjoy a wholesome brunch of raw and cooked salads of fruit, vegetables, grains, and pulses, with a protein dish. Served buffet style so you manage your own portions before your dinnertime feast.

Post-lunch, some time for yourself: enjoy a snooze, lie by the pool, or walk off your meal exploring the city and beyond. The cooking tutorials combine demonstrations with working singly or in pairs in your own workstation for that hands-on practice to help you cook with confidence. You’ll get handouts on nutrition and other essential topics in addition to facilities for making your own notes. After dinner, you can take a gentle evening stroll and round off the day with a nightcap before retiring.

Recommended Airports

Driving directions from Madrid

  • Trujillo is off the A5 trunk road connecting Madrid to Lisbon, 189 kilometers from Madrid.
  • From the airport follow the signs to the circular M40 traveling south-west (counter-clockwise).
  • You will eventually see signs for the Avenida de Extremadura / A5 to Badajoz.

Arrival by airplane

Spanish Yoga Retreat is able to arrange for an inbound transfer from Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD) to Trujillo by private car for 90 EUR one-way per person. They can only provide this service for a minimum of 2 participants. The distance is 256 kilometers and takes about two hours.

If you are opting for the airport-to-hotel transfer please book your flight to arrive at Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport (MAD) in time for the 5 p.m. departure. The rendezvous is at Barajas Terminal 4 arrivals meeting point between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The usual mode of travel is by Express coach From Estacion Sur De Autobuses, Madrid, direct to Trujillo. Take a taxi (30 EUR fixed price) or travel by metro from the airport to Estación Sur De Autobuses where there are numerous daily direct coaches to Trujillo, including non-stop services. Tickets are bookable in advance online where there are Spanish and English speaking options.

If you need to get to the retreat center by yourself Spanish Yoga Retreat will meet you on arrival, either at the bus station or in the main square (Plaza Mayor), escort you to your accommodation, and assist with your check-in as necessary. Full travel details will be automatically available on booking and at any time on request
