Welcome to Zakynthos! Upon your arrival at Zakynthos airport, you'll be greeted by your host, Antonio, who will transfer you to your accommodation in Laganas. Famed for being the home of the sea turtle Caretta-Caretta, Laganas resort will be your base for this fabulous culinary experience.

After settling into your accommodation, take some time to unpack and immerse yourself in the serene surroundings. Later, you'll have the pleasure of meeting Antonio and his wife Effie, who will warmly welcome you with drinks and a welcome snack. They'll also provide you with insights into all the wonderful things to see and do in this diverse resort. Taking some time to unwind by the beach, surrounded by the beauty of the crystal-clear waters and golden sands, will surely set the tone for a memorable stay.

In the evening, at the beautiful garden of Spiros Family apartments, enjoy a delightful welcome creamy Moussaka dinner and a variety of starters, crafted with love and care by your hosts. Day 2: A Journey Into Greek Cuisine and a Turtle Boat Trip to Keri Caves and the Turtle Island

Indulge in the delights of a traditional Greek morning feast: savor free-range eggs, freshly baked bread, and Greek yogurt drizzled with honey, just for starters. Today's adventure? A culinary journey led by Effie, your host, delving into the secrets and artistry of authentic Greek cuisine. Over three immersive hours, you'll craft a sumptuous formal meal featuring Beef Stifado, Courgette Fritters and the delectable creamy Frigania dessert, with its syrupy crunchy rusks base, creamy top and roasted almonds —a true taste of Zakynthian tradition. Effie delights in sharing her culinary wisdom, so feel free to ask questions as you learn alongside her.

Later, join a small group for an unforgettable three-hour boat excursion in Laganas Bay, where you'll have the chance to encounter majestic loggerhead turtles. Day 3: Explore Beautiful Villages, Meet Locals and Taste Local Products, Swim at Agios Sostis Bay & Visit the Mesmerizing Bochali Town in the Evening

Today, you'll have the chance to visit local artisans and producers, taste and buy local products and even pick some unique souvenirs. The first stop is the Aristeon olive oil factory and museum nestled in Lithakia village. There, you will learn about the traditional method of picking the olives and how the humble olives are transformed into the prized elixir that fuels Zakynthians' zest for life. Then, delight in a day of swimming at Laganas Beach and savor a picnic lunch arranged just for you. Upon returning to your accommodation, take some time to relax before joining your hosts Effie and Antonio for a cooking lesson centered around Land, Sea, and the Seasons. Today's focus will be mastering the art of preparing "Kakavia," the traditional Greek fish soup, as well as crafting “Skordalia”, a mouthwatering garlic sauce featuring garlic and boiled potatoes.

Day 5: Free Day

Together, handpick the freshest ingredients for today’s cooking class with your host Effie. Today, you will master the art of crafting Gigandes and Taramosalata (fish roe) – two quintessential Greek dishes that are not only delicious, but also easy to prepare, making them perfect for home cooking.

Popular among vegetarians, Gigandes offers a hearty and satisfying main meal, while Taramosalata provides a creamy and flavorful dip option, often enjoyed as a spread on fresh bread or as a dip for cucumber, carrot sticks, or bell pepper slices. Immerse yourself in this serene haven, completed with sun beds for unwinding, opportunities to observe turtle nests by the shore, and the friendly expertise of the National Marine guards eager to enlighten you about these fascinating creatures. Indulge in the picturesque scenery from the rustic taverna nestled along the beachfront, offering breathtaking vistas of Marathonisi and Pelouzo islands across the shimmering sea. Day 8: Departure

This morning, enjoy your breakfast and make the most of your final moments. You can use the time to do a little last-minute shopping on Laganas Main Street, or head to Laganas beach, to feel the softness of the water, one final time. Your driver will take you to the airport or port in plenty of time for your departure.“Kallo Taxidi!” Have a safe journey home, and remember your experience for years to come.
