Itinerary

Day 1: Tuban - Kuta

You can choose either one activity for the day, one in the morning or afternoon OR If feeling energetic, choose two activities: one for the morning and another for the afternoon.

Your activity options are:

  • Surfing lesson on Kuta Beach
  • SUP (stand up paddle board) lesson in Jimbaran Bay
  • Sea kayak and catamaran in Sanur
  • Wakeboarding / water skiing at Bali Cable Ski Park
  • Urban cycle (Tuban - Kuta - Legian - Seminyak)

Note: Couples and groups please make the same selections

Your first night is at the Bintang Bali Resort right on the beachfront in Tuban, just a short walk from Kuta beach. Highlights of the Bintang Bali Resort are its gorgeous and extensive gardens and lawns, large swimming pool, beachfront restaurant, and all the other room and recreational facilities you would expect of a 4-star resort.

  • Dinner: there are many restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel, or of course you can dine at one of the restaurants at the hotel

Day 2: Sidemen

At 7:30 a.m. depart Bintang Bali to arrive at the rafting start point by 9:30 a.m. Choose between rafting the easier Ayung River (grade 2-3 grade rapids) OR the more challenging Telaga Waja River (grade 3-4 rapids). Both rivers take you through some of the most stunning scenery in Bali with towering waterfalls, high cliffs, and lush river valleys along with exhilarating rapids and some calming flat water sections.

Note: the lower number or grade, the easier the rapids. Both rivers have some exciting sections for those who have not rafted much (or at all).

After lunch you head to the Sidemen to stay at Alamdhari Resort and Spa. Alamdhari Resort and Spa is a small boutique resort with a fabulous location, nestled perfectly between the sweeping rice terraces of the Sidemen Valley.

Sidemen is a quiet, traditional Balinese village surrounded by valleys, rice paddies, and rice terraces with Mount Agung dominating the landscape to the north.

Upon arrival at Alamdhari you'll have plenty of time to settle in and then have the option of doing a short hike in the nearby hills to Gembleng Falls, also known as Heavens Gate. With great views over the Sidemen valley, they highly recommend it.

  • Dinner: More dining delights await you as you head to Asri Dining by Samanvaya Luxury Resort for dinner (included)

Note:

They are sure you will love the Alamdhari Resort and Spa, however if you want a 5-star experience then subject to availability, you may like to upgrade to Samavaya Luxury Resort and Spa for an extra 100 to 130 USD (depending on the season). It is often full, however ask them if interested and they’ll check availability.

Day 3: Mt Batur / Lake Batur

After breakfast drive to Mt Batur via Mahagiri Resort for morning tea and glorious views of Bali’s highest volcano / mountain, Mt Agung. You also have the option to visit to Besakih Temple which is Bali’s biggest and most revered Hindu temple sitting at foot of Mt Agung. Besakih as a 20-minute drive from Mahagiri Resort. Drive to Mt Batur / Lake Baur area.

Stay at Oculus Bali: stunning views over the mountain and lake, modernistic design inspired by materials from the local area with three bar / restaurant choices, beautifully appointed rooms. They are sure you’ll love it.

Afternoon: if weather permits, you may like to do the Mt Batur hike. There are very few people, if anyone on the mountain at that time of day so it could be a good option. Otherwise try ATV / quad bike. Get ready for some excitement as you explore the trails and lower slopes of Mt Batur on an ATV / quad bike. They think this is by far the best location for Quad Biking in Bali. Or for those not into ATV / quad bikes they will happily arrange a jeep tour.

  • Dinner: Oculus (included)

Day 4: Handara Golf Resort

If the Mt Batur hike was not done the previous day, then this morning will be the next opportunity. Morning: Hike Mt Batur Volcano within the Kintamani Caldera. With good reason, this is the most popular hike in Bali and can easily be done with a moderate level of fitness. If the skies are clear, you will have unforgettable views of the caldera, lava flows from eruptions back in the early 1960’s, Lake Batur, and Bali’s biggest mountain, Mt Agung.

Note: Guests can choose to do the early sunrise hike (leaving at around 5 a.m.) or get up a little later and do the hike around at 7:30 to 8 a.m. If the sunrise is not important to you, they like the later hike as most of the other hikers have finished by then or on their way back down.

If you are not hiking and you didn’t do so the day before, then choose between ATV / quad bike or jeep tour 2-hour drive to Bali Handara Golf Resort where you will be staying tonight.

Bali Handara Golf Resort boasts a world class golf course in a magnificent setting, cozy hotel and cottage accommodation, and a beautiful dining experience. Nestled among the stunning mountain range of Bali, at an altitude of over 1,500 meters above sea level, lies a resort that promises to take you on a journey of self-discovery.

Afternoon: relax, play golf, play tennis, hike nearby lake Tamblingan, explore local area. Note: there is often rain in the afternoons so if you plan to play golf, it might be a safer bet to play on the morning of day 5. Please note that your golf fees are included for the next day, however if you do want to play this afternoon, there will be an additional fee of 70 USD (not including golf club hire or caddy fees).

  • Dinner: Handara Golf Resort (included)

Day 5: Handara to Munduk

Morning choose between:

  • Golf
  • Canyoning with Canyoning Bali at nearby Gitgit. Canyoning Bali is a very professional, experienced and safe operator that has selected the best river valleys in the Gitgit area. If you are not clear what canyoning is, it’s the process of moving through the natural environment of a canyon using various methods including walking, rappelling (abseiling) jumping, swimming, scrambling, and sliding. It's great fun, sometimes a challenge and puts you in close contact with your natural environment
  • Visit Jatiluwih for rice field terrace walk at this UNESCO World Heritage site (includes lunch)
  • Jungle trek around local Tamblingan Lake

Note:

If one person wishes to play golf in the morning and the other guest/s want to do another activity, that’s okay. Your guide will not be required at the golf course so they will be free to take the other guest/s on another activity.

Mid Afternoon: Short drive to Sanak Retreat (40 minutes). Sanak is located in a tropical adventure wonderland in the cooler climate of Munduk Mountain Valley. The retreat is perfectly situated close to jungle, mountains, clove and coffee plantations, rice fields, lakes, waterfalls, springs, and the sea. A perfect opportunity to explore nature and seek a deeper sense of serenity in a luxurious setting.

  • Dinner: Sanak Retreat (included)

Day 6: Munduk

Morning: Mountain Bike riding through the Munduk Mountain Valley with your local guide will get you close to nature whilst also immersing yourself in traditional Bali and observing the traditions, customs, and lifestyle of the local people.

Afternoon: Explore the area with your guide, visit one of the beautiful Munduk waterfalls or just relax in the comfort of Sanak Retreat.

  • Dinner: Sanak Retreat (included)

Day 7: Munduk to Pemuteran

Morning: After breakfast drive to Pemuteran (1 hour 15 minutes). Stay at Menjangan Dynasty Resort for nights 7 and 8. Menjangan Dynasty Resort, Beach Glamping, and Dive Centre offers the ultimate luxury glamping resort experience in a world class diving location within the beautiful surroundings of Northwest Bali.

Resting upon 16 hectares of land on a quiet peninsula beside a blissful white-sand beach, this eco-friendly, tented, boutique retreat caters to outdoor adventure enthusiasts with an appetite for indulgence as well as folks who just want to relax and be pampered.

From here, you can enjoy a spellbinding vista that extends across the gentle waters of Banyuwedang Bay to the lowland forests of the West Bali National Park, taking in a mangrove-entwined coastline and the tiny uninhabited island of Menjangan, the craggy north-facing folds and ridges of the Tiga Saudara Mountains.

The safari-style tented rooms and villas, combined with a series of magnificent communal spaces crafted in bamboo and ‘alang-alang’ thatch, present a refreshing alternative in architectural style and five star flair.

Delicious cuisine, with the glamping resort’s signature Pasir Putih Beach Club and Bar offering all-day dining, as well as the opportunity for romantic dinners in the setting of your choice, can all be enjoyed, supported by excellent service from a team of safari-suited staff.

After settling in, just let your guide know what you’d like to do for the rest of the day. Your options include:

  • Sea kayaking Menjangan Bay
  • Snorkeling
  • Short hike in hills behind Pemuteran
  • Mountain bike riding
  • Dinner: Menjangan Dynasty (included)

Special note:

They also offer an optional PADI Open Water SCUBA Course Program that can be taken for the remainder of your tour. If you want to do the PADI Open Water SCUBA course, this can be done over three days, starting Day 8, for a supplementary cost of 360 USD per person.

If you do choose this option, you can ignore Days 8, 9, and 10 of the itinerary below. You will stay 3 nights at Menjangan Dynasty Resort and then head back directly to Kuta area after lunch on Day 10. Dinner at Suma Restaurant on Day 8 and dinner at Menjangan Dynasty Day 9 are included.

Day 8: Pemuteran and Menjangan

Morning recommended activity: They don’t think you should miss this opportunity to go snorkeling at Menjangan Island. This is one of the best dive sites in Bali with spectacular reefs and lots of interesting marine life. A boat will transfer you to the island. Simple lunch included. Departing at 9 a.m.

If you’d rather do something else, your options are: cycling, hiking, try scuba or scuba dive for certified divers (68 USD supplemental charge for try scuba or 2 scuba dives):

It passes through local villages, rice terrace farming areas, and provides mountain and ocean views (note: If you don’t want to do the full 6 km, just tell the driver how many km you want and he’ll wait for you at the specified place)
  • Just go swimming and relax
  • Dinner: Gusto Resto and Café or Trattoria, both with extensive Italian cuisine menus and great views over the Bali ocean (included)

Day 10: Amed - South Bali

You may like to have a short snorkel in front of the hotel before or after another activity or you might choose to spend the morning just snorkeling and exploring different dive sites around Amed.

If you choose a short snorkel plus another activity, your options are:

  • Hiking: Choose between the 6 km mountain valley road hike described above (approximately 1.5 hours) or the more challenging hill hike just 10 minutes to the east of your hotel – hike time about 2.5 hours – your guide will collect you at the finishing point near the top of the hill
