Imagine yourself in the beautiful Mediterranean island of Ibiza, stunning beaches with crystal clear turquoise water, getting high on yoga and delicious healthy food! The purpose of the Ibiza yoga retreat is to assist you in the understanding, and experience of your true nature through the practice of yoga and immersion in a yogic lifestyle. The tools are classical Hatha yoga, Yin Yoga, Nidra Yoga, Yin Yang Yoga, meditation, philosophy, and Sound healing to help you relax your body and mind, open and soften your heart so that you can experience the natural happiness within.
The original farm house, newer main house, and outbuildings are integrated by porches and paths with a pool, pond, and well in the traditional architecture sympathetic to the landscape. For the lessons, they have a custom-made wooden yoga deck among the pine trees.
The main house just above the pool has a huge porch with panoramic views of the countryside, sea, and sky. There is a large dining table where the meals for the group will be served. On the ground floor, there is a very spacious and comfortable living room and an open kitchen where guests can watch the chefs preparing the vegetarian meals by the breakfast area. On the first floor, you will find large double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and two spacious terraces.
The original farmhouse, close to the main house, has a big and comfortable living room for music, reading, conversation, television, and games as well as spacious porch with dining table and chill-out bed with beautiful views. There are large double bedrooms with solid walls almost a meter thick, each with their own ensuite bathroom.
The double rooms are very comfortable and spacious, they have separated twin beds with the possibility to put them together in case you want. Ensuite bathrooms have bath tubs or showers.
This room has a smaller size and has its own bathroom with shower.
In the main house, there are two double rooms sharing a very spacious bathroom and a big terrace with panoramic views.
The classes of Ibiza yoga retreat by Lena Tancredi are based on Hatha, Yin and Yang Yoga. There are between four or five hour daily classes during the week (theory, asana, pranayama, and meditation classes). Some of the classes are more physical and vigorous and some are more recuperative and relaxing.
All classes are optional. After all, this is a holiday, not a boot camp! It is fine if you decide to sleep or spend more time on the beach in the afternoon. A big part of yoga is listening to your body's needs and a holiday is also about rest and recharging. All yoga classes are held in English. The yoga program includes 6 hours of theory divided into 4 parts during the week:
During this session, you will receive important and inspiring information about the yoga philosophy allowing you to understand in a very simple and deeper way different aspects about the origin, types, and goals of yoga. You will learn about Vedanta Philosophy, the three Gunas, the four paths of Yoga, and the 8 limbs of Raja Yoga.
You will learn about the chakras, the etheric body and how yoga benefits not only your physical body but also your energetic body. The connections between the Chakras and your glandular system and the importance of bringing your practice to a deeper pranic level.
You will learn about Ayurveda principles based on a correct diet and healthy lifestyle. During this class, you will receive many important tips about food combinations and personal diet according to your nature and your Dosha ( personal physical and mental constitution).
You will learn about the philosophy behind the use of sound and vibrations, frequencies and resonance to heal the physical, mental, and emotional bodies.
2 Morning sessions of 3 hours each, where you will learn the complete traditional Hatha Yoga Sivananda system which includes sun salutations, 2 different kinds of pranayamas ( breathing techniques), 12 basis asanas (steady poses), and final relaxation. The 3-hour session will allow you to receive important and specific information about the correct performance and alignment of the asanas.
3 Morning sessions of 3 hours each, where you will learn the practice of Yin Yang Yoga, which blends two styles of yoga into one practice. Bringing together the benefits of passively holding yoga poses with more dynamic sequences and standing postures.
Yin and Yang are the Taoist concepts which describe the two relative qualities present in everything. Yin is more internal, passive, cooling and downward. While Yang is more external, dynamic, warming and upward.
2 Afternoon sessions (1 and half hour) of Yin Yoga, which is a slower practice where poses are passively held for longer, working on the deep, dense (Yin) connective tissues, and joints in the body.
Sound baths are meant to help facilitate a shift in your brainwave state. Through frequency and entrainment with the sound, it’s possible and very easy to down-shift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), with the majority of people able to reach theta (meditative state) and even delta (where internal healing can occur).
This experience is helpful for anyone who wants to give themselves a moment of relaxation or gain the benefits from meditation but has not yet learned how to access on their own.
For beginners, meditation requires a verbally guided experience, i.e- go to a quiet place and find a stream or repeat a mantra. The sound bath experience is about letting the sound take you to a deeper place making it easier to arrive in a relaxed state without complicating how to get there. The sound is the vessel and it allows you to explore and identify what a meditative state is and how it feels.
Because of this, a sound bath is not only beneficial for beginners of meditation, a seasoned meditator will find as many benefits. The sounds are created by a wide range of instruments (about 150 instruments) with different frequencies which can include pulse drumming, Biosonic tuning forks, gongs, Shruti box, Himalayan singing bowl, mbiru, various percussion, chimes, overtone singing, Indian, Latin, and aborigines flutes, Coto Japanese , hand arp, etc.
Each yoga session will finish with 30 minutes of guided meditation. Every time you will learn a different technique so that you can have a better vision about the form of meditation which could be more suitable to your nature. You can see below a summary about what you will learn during this week:
You will be picked up from the airport from one of our co-workers and brought to the retreat. There will not be yoga lessons on the first day. Sunset Mountain Ibiza Yoga Retreat will provide you with explanations about the week, give you practical information about the island and our retreat, as well as answer your possible questions. There will be available during the day fresh fruits, salads, Hummus, bread, water, herbal teas.
Sunset Mountain Ibiza Yoga Retreat kindly ask you to leave your room free for cleaning for the next group at 10 a.m. You can stay in our retreat common areas, as you need to wait for the time of your airplane. The driver will bring you safely and on time to the airport. See you next time!

This yoga retreat is a great way to experience yoga for the first time or for the more experienced, it is an opportunity to deepen their practice. All the guests come from many different backgrounds: lawyers, doctors, teachers, mothers, students, business people, retired, in between jobs, and etc. What is most important is that they are all just really lovely people! Many of the guests travel alone and some guests come with friends or partners.
This retreat will take place in ibiza, Spain. It is set in 30.000 square meters of pine forest, fruit filled terraces, several lawns, a variety of flower beds, and an olive lined driveway. Amazing breathtaking views including sea, sunsets and distant hills complete a scene between blue skies and red earth.
The seasons change, the fruits and flowers appear and disappear but there is always something and often plenty. Almonds and oranges in profusion, fig and pomegranate trees are all scattered around here among the smells and colors of so many flowers. Olive, carob, and palm trees add to a feeling of deep Mediterranean country.
The kitchen is 100% vegetarian and they will provide you all meals; breakfast, lunch, and dinner, all included in the price. The chefs, Monica Nartaki and Alessandra Tavares (Naná and Ali) are professionals with over 15 years of experience in healthy cooking. They are experts in natural and vegetarian nutrition, and have conducted both deep food studies in vegan, Mediterranean, and Asian cuisine, oriented to prepare delicious and healthy dishes whenever possible using products of local, organic, and ecological agriculture.
All sauces, breads and desserts are homemade. Collectors of spices and recipes adapted to their special and unique style: Eating healthy and delicious using all your senses! They also prepare a special menu for those with allergies or food intolerance.
