1. Session 1: Live online yogic case-taking and consultation (90 minutes)

a. Objective

Understand the principles of Ayurveda and how they can be applied to individual health and wellness.

b. Session overview

  • Introduction to Ayurveda: Brief overview of Ayurvedic principles and their relevance to modern health
  • Case taking: Dr. Chothe will conduct a live online case-taking session with a participant (volunteer). This will include questions about their physical and mental health, lifestyle, and any specific concerns.
  • Ayurvedic assessment: Dr. Chothe will analyze the information provided and explain how Ayurvedic principles can be applied to the individual's well-being.
  • Personalized recommendations: Based on the assessment, Dr. Chothe will provide personalized recommendations for diet, lifestyle, and simple yoga practices that align with the participant's constitution (dosha).
  • Q&A: Participants can ask questions about Ayurveda and how to incorporate its principles into their daily lives.

2. Session 2: Art therapy session (60 minutes)

a. Objective

Explore the therapeutic benefits of Warli art as a form of creative self-expression and relaxation.

b. Session overview

  • Introduction to Warli Art: A brief introduction to the history and significance of Warli art as a therapeutic medium.
  • Guided art session: Dr. Chothe will guide participants through a 60-minute Warli art session. Participants will create their own Warli art piece, following Dr. Chothe's instructions and using basic art supplies (paper, pencil, and markers).

c. Introduction (five minutes)

  • Welcome participants and introduce the session's purpose
  • Briefly explain the history and significance of Warli art as a traditional Indian tribal art form
  • Emphasize that this session focuses on the therapeutic aspects of art rather than artistic skill

d. Yogic warm-up practice - Sukshma vyayama (10 minutes)

  • Begin with a mindfulness exercise to center participants. For example, a brief guided meditation or deep breathing exercise.
  • Encourage participants to let go of any stress or distractions and be fully present in the moment

e. Warli art basics (five minutes)

  • Provide a quick overview of basic Warli art elements, such as geometric shapes, human figures, animals, and nature
  • Share some simple Warli art patterns and motifs that participants can incorporate into their artwork

f. Art creation (30 minutes)

  • Instruct participants to begin creating their Warli art piece on paper using pencil and markers.
  • Encourage them to choose a theme or scene that resonates with them. It could be related to nature, daily life, or emotions.
  • Offer guidance and suggestions as needed, but emphasize that there are no right or wrong ways to create Warli art.
  • Encourage participants to express their feelings and thoughts through their artwork.

g. Sharing and Gunas reflection (five minutes)

  • Invite participants to share their artwork with the group, if they feel comfortable. Sharing is optional, and participants should not feel pressured to do so.
  • After each sharing, ask the artist to briefly explain their inspiration or emotions behind the artwork.
  • Encourage positive and supportive feedback from the group.

h. Wrap-up and relaxation (five minutes)

  • Express gratitude to participants for their creativity and participation.
  • Lead a short relaxation exercise or closing meditation to help participants transition back to their daily lives with a sense of calm and accomplishment.

i. Art as therapy

Dr. Chothe will discuss how the creative process can serve as a form of therapy, helping individuals relax, express themselves, and tap into their inner creativity.
