Everest base camp trek takes trekkers through the Khumbu region's rawness. It is completed in 15 days, starting from the most approached point of the Everest region, which is Lukla. Amongst all the treks available in Nepal, this one has to be the one with a terrific combination of adventurous trails, various stunning landscapes, and nature’s best scenarios.
For nights in cities, the group will use standard / superior standard / deluxe rooms whereas, during the trek, the group use will use lodges / tea houses / guesthouses / home stay, whatever is available and accessible. Swotah Travel and Adventure can also arrange sleeping bags on request.
Although the difficulty of The Everest base camp trek varies depending on your route, it is good to be prepared for altitude sickness beforehand. As the Everest trekking trail route reaches up to 5,364 m (17598.43 ft), one better consult with their doctor prior to trekking, and people with respiratory health issues and major health problems should avoid it.

Everest Base Camp is in the lap of the world's highest mountain Mount Everest (also known as "Sagarmatha" in Nepal, "Chomolungma" in Tibet, and "Deodungha" in Darjeeling). Everest Base Camp is at an altitude of 5364 meters above sea level.
Until 1856, no one recognized Everest as the highest mountain in the world. Tenzing Norgay and Edmund Hillary made the first official ascent of Everest on 29 May 1953 using the route from Jiri to Namche Bazaar for the expedition.
Everest Base Camp is inside the Sagarmatha National Park which is enlisted in World Heritage Site (UNESCO).
Pasang Dawa Sherpa from Nepal who is Swotah Travel and Adventure's member currently holds the record of summiting Mount Everest for the highest number of times with 22 successful ascents.
The best season for this trip is March to May and September to November.

What follows is a general flow of events. Expect the unexpected and prepare to be flexible. The flights from and to Luka are highly affected by weather conditions. Thus, in case of flight cancellation prepare accordingly.
A trekking permit is a must to travel to controlled areas. Permit, however, is issued only to groups. Individual trekkers will not be issued a trekking permit.
You will be welcomed warmly and taken to the hotel comfortably by a Swotah Travel and Adventure team member in a private vehicle. After arriving at the hotel, the staff will explain about the trek shortly then, you will enjoy a hearty dinner with Nepal’s kick in it and rest for the night.
On this day, be ready to have your mind blown by the diversity and harmonical peace that Kathmandu has to offer. Along with that, you will also visit around and see as many Unesco world heritage sites as possible. Besides all these, the rich Newari culture and warm, hospitable people around will have you feeling warm and welcomed.
After collecting sights around Kathmandu, you leave for Tribhuvan International airport after breakfast and catch a flight to Lukla for the actual start of the Everest base camp trek. On arrival at Lukla after 30 to 35 minutes, the adventure begins. With a motive to guide you out of Lukla, you will first hike to the Pasang Lhamu Memorial Gate, from where the path of the trek goes down to the beautiful village of Phakkding along with other gorgeous Sherpa villages like Thalsharoa, Chheplung, Thado Koshi Gaon, and Chhuthawa. You are going to be pleased with a magical view of the Kusum Kangru and Dudh Koshi rivers. After walking for about 4 hours, Phakding welcomes you.
After an early morning breakfast, the trekking continues through a dense forest of pine and a few suspension bridges. You will also enjoy the sight of Toktok, Bengkar, and Chhamuwa, leading you to Monjo. From Monjo, you enter Sagarmatha National Park after all the requirements are met. The trek begins to climb down from here steeply, and you will eventually be crossing the Dudh Koshi river by bridge. Then you arrive at Larja Dovan, followed by Larja bridge, walking the trail of the lower river bank and forest. Crossing the Larja bridge, the majestic view of Mt.Everest smiles at you. From here, to reach Mislung the rocky path crosses forests and hills. An easy walk from Mislung takes you to Namche. Upon arriving at Namche, you can either stroll around and explore Namche or rest at a teahouse.
This day will be spent focusing on ways to prevent you from possible mountain sickness. Instead of sitting dully, you will be hiking for the entire day through Khunde, Khumjung, and back to Namche. You will get a view of Khunde, Namche, Ama Dablam, and Pachermo Peak from the Hillary Memorial viewpoint. On your way here, the trail offers a splendid view of Thamserku peaks before arriving at Khunde Tsamkhang, which is a stunning Buddhist temple which is located above Khunde village. You will explore Khunde and continue moving towards Khumjung, the Khumbu region’s largest village. Along with the Mani wall and Khumjung monastery, the village also has Hillary school, a school built by Sir Edmund Hillary. The night after the hike will be spent at Namche Bazar.
After breakfast, walk past Phunki Thanga through the village with the largest and most astonishing monastery in the Everest region climbing down, then you reach Sagarmatha National Park. From here, you will experience the most beautiful view of snow-capped mountains like Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Lhotse, and Nuptse. After these magical views, you arrive at Tengboche, from where you should be able to witness a Buddhist ceremony if you arrive on time. To relieve all the stress from the trek, accommodation will be arranged at a teahouse in Tengboche.
On this day of the Everest base camp trek, you will get sight of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam after trekking downhill through a beautiful rhododendron forest along with birch and conifers trees. Then you will move towards Pangboche, passing the Imja river by climbing down until Debuche. After reaching Pangboche, you continue to move forward, admiring the view of the Himalayas and Pangboche monastery. From here, in order to arrive in Dingboche, you will cross the beautiful Lobuche river and ascend for a while. Overnight stay in a teahouse at Dingboche.
To tackle possible altitude sickness, acclimatization is a must. For the day, you will be involved in actively walking around beautiful and small villages with terrific lands of farms, and fields of barley, buckwheat, and potatoes as it helps in acclimatization. Observing and admiring views of Mt.Makalu, Lhotse, Cholatse, Tawache, Ama Dablam, and others, you will also be part of the hike to Nagarjun hill. After a very pleasant and active day, the night will be spent in a teahouse at Dingboche.
After breakfast, you will move towards Lobuche. You will slowly climb up as the trail elevates higher and higher from here. Through boulder-strewn slopes that take you to Chupki Lhara climbing terminal moraine of Khumbu glacier, give you the thrill of adventure. On moving further up for a while from Khumbu glacier, the Everest base camp trek is another destination for the day, Lobuche, is reached. Teahouse will be arranged for an overnight stay.
Cherishing the glorious view of Mt. Everest along with other snow-capped peaks like Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtern, Khumbutse, Nuptse, etc., you march towards Gorkashep after a warm breakfast in the morning. Firstly you trek accompanied by moraine of Khumbu glacier. Before moving further through beautiful streams, and rocky paths along with other mountains that finally get you closer to Everest itself, you will devour lunch at Gorakshep. From this location, Nuptse, Khumbutse, and Pumori mountains will also come into your sight. The night will be spent in a teahouse at Gorakshep
The trek starts early in the morning to catch the golden sunrise with a climb up for several hours and to get us to Kalapatthar. The highlight of this particular day is the sunrise from Kalapatthar that strikes Mount Everest and gives a golden reflection. On climbing down, you will be blessed with breathtaking views of other mountains like Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Taboche, Cholatse, and Lobuche. At Kalapatthar, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast and then move back to Gorakshep, then resume trekking to Pheriche through a rocky route. You will stop here and stay at a teahouse.
After having breakfast in the morning, you will first leave for Tengboche by climbing down for a bit. You will again be back at Sagarmatha National Park, surrounded by majestic snowcapped mountains all the way to Namche. The accommodation for the night at Namche will be arranged in a teahouse.
You will get back to the place where the Everest base camp trek started, which is Lukla. Walking your way back to Pheding through divine Dudhkoshi, you will reach Lukla. The trail has a suspension bridge of Thado Koshi river and small but vivid Sherpa villages. You will spend your last night on the lap of mountains in a teahouse.
From Lukla airport, you take a flight back to Kathmandu. Since the whole day will be ahead of you, after arriving at the capital, it is up to you to either take a stroll around the city or just rest in the hotel.
Your flight will be scheduled for this day, and our staff will monitor and look after all the necessary requirements and see you off at the Tribhuvan International airport.
All guides are trekking experts holding licenses from Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Government. They are the most valuable assets of the company. Guides know the trekking route like the back of their hand and use their expertise in ensuring your safety in the mountains.
Usually, you have to walk about 7-9 hours a day. But it shouldn't be taken as a certain thing because the number of hours of walk really depends on your speed, so it's really relative.

Everest Base Camp is a world-famous trekking region among trekkers hence this region provides a wide range of delicious western meals like Pasta, noodles, pizzas, bread, soup, etc. Dal Bhat (rice, lentils, and vegetables) are a great way to gain energy for the strenuous trek. As you trek higher you should avoid meat for health purposes as it is not good to eat meat at higher altitudes and also the meat is not very fresh.
There are plenty of water stations at each stop on the route. You can easily fill up the bottle from the open taps. Swotah Travel and Adventure recommends that you bring water purifier tablets with you or at least get them from Kathmandu before you depart for trekking. You can also buy mineral waters but Swotah Travel and Adventure usually recommends tap water which is pure and it helps the environment by not promoting plastic bottled water.
