This holiday focuses a lot on the rediscovery of Salento traditions, from the various cooking classes to the tasting and discovery of local wines, to other activities connected to the theme of gastronomy, one of the strengths of our territory.
The days will be a mix of the discovery of the territory in the most characteristic places both from a naturalistic and artistic point of view and the food and wine area that will accompany the guests from breakfast to dinner.
The management of the estate is familiar and this is precisely the characteristic of the tour, to experience Salento in an authentic way feeling at home, the programs can be flexible according to the customer's needs, and the spirit of this experience is aimed at small groups and not at tourist groups precisely to keep intact that sense of genuineness and familiarity that distinguishes it.
Sample itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at the farmhouse, settle in and explore the site
The team will pick you up at the airport (Brindisi) or at the train station to take you to Tenuta Linazza, a typical Salentine farmhouse surrounded by olive trees where it produces extra virgin organic olive oil. You settle into your rooms and after a short rest, take take a walk in the farmhouse, and the host will tell you its history.
You will visit the oil mill and the team will explain the procedure (the Tenuta Linazza team uses the old procedure) to later taste the excellent oil.
You will have dinner at the farmhouse based on typical products of the area.
Day 2: Santa Maria di Leuca Santa Maria and visit to the ceramic factory and cooking class
After having slept away from the city and being surrounded by nature, you wake up for breakfast of seasonal fruit and typical Salento sweets. Tenuta Linazza can adapt it if someone has a special need.
After breakfast, We will go to visit one of the oldest ceramic factories in Italy, in Puglia ceramics are very characteristic and we will be able to learn about its history.
After you will make a beautiful excursion through different villages until you reach Leuca. The Cape of Leuca, once even considered Finibus terrae (the end of the world), is an area made up of tiny and equally suggestive villages.
In the afternoon, you will return to the farmhouse And we'll do a cooking class to learn how to make focaccia.After the cooking class we will have dinner typical dishes of the territory
Day 3: Pasticciottos' day and Galatina or Gallipoli
Once you have had breakfast, you will go to Galatina, a city known for creating Pasticciotto (the most famous sweet in Salento). You will visit the pastry shop that invented pasticciotto and taste it. Next, you will visit the Cathedral of Santa Caterina and once finished you will have free time to eat or shop. Another
possibility is to visit the beautiful city (Gallipoli) it was one of the most important cities in southern Italy due to its strategic position with a huge port. It has a very beautiful sea, the Ionian Sea.
Then you will return to the farmhouse where you will make a recreation of the Patticciotto with Emilio, your chef.
Dinner will be based on fish.
Day 4: Visit all the corners of Lecce and eat Neapolitan pizza in Tricase
You will dedicate this day to visiting one of the most beautiful cities in Italy, Lecce. They call it the Florence of the South for its baroque influence. You will visit it with a professional guide who will show you the most beautiful corners of the city.
Later you will have free time to eat exquisite local dishes and enjoy the city. You will return for dinner at Tricase the Napoletana typical pizza.
Day 5: Boat trip to Castro or circuit Spa and cooking typical pasta from Salento
Immediately after breakfast, you will go to Castro, known as a fishing village to take a boat trip through Castro and enjoy the Adriatic Sea of its colors. If time does not allow, depending on the weather, you will dedicate yourself to your well-being and you will make a spa circuit to relax.
You will visit Castro city with an explanation of its history and Castro Puerto. You will eat there and have some free time to enjoy the nice panorama.
In the afternoon, you will dedicate yourself to cooking again where you will cook typical pasta from Salento with an expert in the sector. You will dine on the pasta that you will have cooked with a good wine
Day 6: Wine and Otranto
This day, you will dedicate it to gastronomy. . After a magnificent mozzarella tasting, you will visit one of the most important towns in Salento, Otranto. You will eat there and visit the town in your free time.
Return to the farmhouse to have a short rest and visit a winery where they will tell you about their beginnings and they will give you a tasting of their best wines. You will have dinner at the farmhouse based on traditional dishes.
Day 7: End of tour, thank you for choosing Tenuta Linazza
