El Valle is a small village near the beach with gravel roads, so plan your footwear accordingly. Accommodations are in the jungle and spread out over four different hotels with rustic features, some with open windows and sliding doors and bamboo features. Dance
Embrace the roots of Bachata. The Bachata Retreat will take you to the heart of the Dominican Republic, where everything started. You will learn about Dominican culture and the different dance styles from the best local instructors on the island. There will be six hours of workshops and more than 30 hours of social dancing.
The group will be dancing on the beach by day, around a bonfire at night, and in the most authentic Dominican clubs with The Bachata Retreat's DJs, entertainers, and local instructors. It will be an authentic dance experience, wherein you will embrace the roots of Bachata.
Workshops
Learn Dominican footwork from The Bachata Retreat's local instructors, couples Bachata, and what is most popular in the country right now, Dembow.
Social dance

Tuesday, April 1

- 17:00 Llegada a El Valle, Samana, check in to your hotel
- 20:00 Welcome dinner - You will have a typical Dominican meal under the stars
- 21:00 - 00:00 Welcome ceremony and social dancing
You will get to know the group, the organizers, and professors who will be with you the whole week. After the ceremony, participants will start the first night of social dancing.
Wednesday, April 2

- 18:00 - 14:00 Party in Las Terrenas, the hub of Dominican bachata
After a short boat trip, the group will arrive at the virgin beach of Ermitaño, a sanctuary of peace and relaxation, with no one but them and the music. You will be on a beach surrounded by mountains, coconut trees, and reefs.
There in Las Terrenas, you can expect a great level of dancing, wherein you will get together with the local and international dancers in their bars and clubs in one of the most cosmopolitan areas of the Dominican Republic.

Workshops will be with The Bachata Retreat's local and international artists, where you will learn Dominican footwork, traditional bachata in couples, and salsa.
A delicious dinner will be waiting on the most beautiful terrace in Samana, with you watching the sunset with the best view in the city as well as the famous bridge. After dinner, it’ll be time to dance with the incredible animation team and international artists.
Friday, April 4
The Bachata Retreat will throw a private party on a catamarán, the excursion that you cannot miss! The group will sail through the Caribbean Sea on a private catamaran with local entertainers and dancers to the paradisiacal island of Cayo Levantado. Participants will take over the island with their bachata until sun goes down.
After a sound healing experience, you will continue the party in the most Dominican way - dancing on the street between little streets and bars, under the stars and infinite palm trees.

The group will start with some workshops with The Bachata Retreat's incredible artists to warm up for the big jungle pool party! With one of the best 360-degree view to El Valle Bay, the group is going to have a jungle pool party at the infinity pool of Unique Hotel with the best DJs, animation crew, and artists.
The second party night will be in Las Terrenas. It will be the perfect night to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the local people in the two main salsa and bachata dance clubs, Mosquito and Babylon.
Sunday, April 6

The group will visit the largest waterfall in the Dominican Republic. It is a spectacular site to take incredible photos at and lose your self in the strength of nature. With all the animators, teachers, participants, and organizers with whom they have shared the unforgettable week, participants will do a farewell ceremony and then have dinner.
Participants will continue the night on the beach of El Valle, in its secret corner. The Bachata Retreat's DJ will make you dance until dawn, with live performances by Dominican artists surrounded by the mountains of Samaná covered by the rain forest.

You will visit the most spectacular virgin beaches, while dancing and drinking fresh coconut water from the coconut tree. You will also be swimming under crystal clear waterfalls, visiting the most spectacular virgin beaches, and going on catamaran and quad excursions, while drinking fresh coconut water from the palm trees.
Playa Ermitaño
You'll go to this virgin beach, a sanctuary of peace and relaxation, with no one but the group and the music surrounded by mountains, coconut trees, and reefs. It is perfect for snorkeling.
Cascada El Limón
It is the most impressive waterfall on the Samaná peninsula. Participants will bathe in its natural pool, under a 40-meter waterfall surrounded by tropical jungle.

Location
Welcome to El Valle, Samaná, where the Bachata Retreat was born, in the heart of the Dominican jungle. El Valle is a village located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic in the Samana Peninsula, 20 minutes' drive from Samana town.
It is a little town in the middle of the tropical jungle surrounded by virgin beaches and waterfalls, three hours' drive from the capital city, Santo Domingo.
Food
During the entire retreat, every breakfast and lunch are included in the price. For lunch, The Bachata Retreat will mainly serve local Dominican food, which is rice with beans, fried plantain, different type of salad, and fish or chicken. You will love the Caribbean flavors as well as the fresh fruits and fresh fish from the sea.
The Bachata Retreat has a dinner package that you can buy separately to join with all the organized meals. However, you will also have the option to just try the local restaurants and different meal options in the area.

This is the excursion you can’t miss! The Bachata Retreat will sail through the Caribbean Sea on a private catamaran with local entertainers and dancers, to the paradisiacal island of Cayo Levantado (also known as Bacardi Island). Participants will take over the island with bachata and party as well as swim in the ocean until the sun goes down.
