The medicine Ayahuasca is a strong healing brew that is used for therapeutic purposes and has antidepressant and anxiolytic activity. Some people say that it can help with a host of mental pathologies like depression, addictions, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It can help you to see and understand in a better way your path in life. It is a life-changing experience that requires special emotional commitment and physical preparation through a diet during a week (seven days).

Ayahuasca Ceremony

Ayahuasca is widely considered by many who know and use it, as a masterpiece of nature that cures ills, teaches you, corrects you, and punishes you (like a loving mother who scolds you, so that you leave behind your weaknesses, your weights, and continuously improve as conscious human beings).

Andean Coca Leaf Ceremony of Unification

This ceremony is performed to create group solidarity, friendship, warmth, wisdom, courage, and harmony with the spirit realm, as a fundamental part of the cosmic order.

Coca Leaf Reading Ceremony

The Coca Reading Ceremony is the most recognized and respected in South America divinatory method: considered as of Inca origin, actually, it is a practice that is lost in the mists of time, being considered as of widespread practice in all pre-Inca cultures, which, like the Incas attributed not only a divine origin but also as a seat of a mother spirit, the soul of the plant, which never dies.

Medical Volcanic Water - pre-retreat cleanse

The medicinal water comes from volcanoes that mean it comes from Mother Earth - Pachamama. She gives you this healing water to help cleanse your body condition (detox).

Cleaning Ceremony – Kuti

The Kuti is an energetic cleansing ceremony at which the Andean masters who work connecting the spirit of holy Mother Earth - Pachamama and the different elements of nature to the patient, open and align the chakras in this regard the different aspects of life are also cleaned and aligned (love, work, health, family).

Guidelines before your ceremony

Dietary

Do not consume any drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, coffee, or chocolate before the retreat. Avoid canned food, red meat, and pork. Pork, in particular, is damaging for the body during an Ayahuasca ceremony, due to its high level of toxicity. Also avoid cold-cut meat, spicy food and excessive salt and sugar, and food or beverages with coloring, artificial flavors, or preservatives. This diet must be followed for the 7 days – one week prior to your retreat start date.

Recommended food

Eat well and healthy! When possible, eat good quality, organic food. White meats i.e. fish and boiled chicken are permitted. Fish is particularly recommended, as it contains many powerful nutrients for the brain.

Do not take any medical prescription drugs, female contraceptive pills, antibiotics, injections, natural supplements, or vitamins in the week prior to, and during your retreat. If you are currently taking medication that must be taken continuously, please discuss with The Healing Tree Center as soon as possible, before your retreat.

Important

For your safety, The Healing Tree Center reserves the right to refuse treatment for people with the following conditions:

  • Pregnancy
  • People who had heart surgery / pacemaker
  • Blood disease
  • Mental illness (example: schizophrenia, bipolar)

Anti-depression medication contains chemicals that do not interact well with Ayahuasca. If you are on any such medication you must discuss this with Healing Tree administration before committing to a retreat, so they can plan the best and safest course of action with you. For women, if you are pregnant you will not be able to participate in a retreat.

Additional points

The Healing Tree Center recommends abstaining from sexual activity, including masturbation, two days before the retreat, as it can reduce your physical energetic levels during your ceremonies.

Recommendations for spiritual and mental preparation

Prior to your retreat The Healing Tree Center recommends meditation, prayer, yoga, or any other spiritual / religious practice familiar to you. If you do not practice any particular religion or spirituality they suggest focusing on a sincere personal prayer, morning and night, leading up to your ceremony. The attitude before and during the retreat must be honesty (with others and yourself), love, respect, humility, courage, and mental and spiritual strength.

Diet the night before and day of the ceremony

The night before the day of the ceremony, please eat a large, healthy dinner, which follows the dietary restrictions (no red meat, spice, etc). During the day of the ceremony you will be fasting all day, so do not consume food, only water throughout this day. The ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. in the evening.
