What speaks for meditation
Often the causes of depression and burnout are mental fatigue, overwork, and of course stress. Eliminate chaos, prevent stress, and improve quality of life, meditation can help with a range of health issues. So effective is the training from the Far East.
Studies show that the meditations work on physical as well as on the mental and spiritual level. So should affect the immune system and self-healing processes of the body, on cardiovascular problems, burnout, and high blood pressure. In the long term, they change structures in the brain, increase concentration and attention, and help to create a better sense of life.
Meditation in Buddhism means "effortless lingering in what is". Meditation is an important part of Buddhism. In Thailand, mainly Vipassana meditation and Samatha meditation are practiced. The former serves the development of the clear view and the latter the development of calm.
Mindful speech meditation retreat at The Orchid Resort & Relax
The meditations take place 3 times a day in the resort's own sanctuary (Sala) and are conducted by certified instructors in the Buddhist language Pali, Englisch, French and Thai. German, Thai, French, and English-speaking employees are on-site for all courses. The courses include diet breakfasts and diet lunches and if desired, the meditation can be combined with a detox unit.
What to look for in meditation:
- Clothes: White Thaistyle meditation clothing (will be provided)
- Sitting position: The back is upright, shoulders relaxed
- Breathing: Natural and relaxed, breathing through the nose
- Hand posture: The left-hand rests cupped in the right, thereby touching the thumb tips
- Eyes: It is not easy to bring about relaxation in the face and requires a little practice. The eyes are half-closed during the meditation and look down slightly, if you want, you can close your eyes too
- Attitude: Like the body, the mind should also be relaxed
- Thoughts: Meditation is not about dispelling thoughts, but about accepting them for what they are, thoughts. They come and go to let thoughts pass. It requires some practice but you can learn it
