One of the original heritage houses in Stanford Village, the retreat venue is a characterful Cape Dutch building with many of its original features, furnished in a simple, beautiful vintage style.

A beautiful closed combustion fireplace in the lounge forms the warm heart of the house and the space for morning yoga and evening meditation. High ceilings, wooden beams, and original wooden floors lend a traditional coziness that’ll have you putting your feet up, country style, in no time.

The morning sun greets the back verandah, making it a delightful place to start the day. In the late afternoons, the front ‘stoep’ is a perfect spot for tea as the sun goes down.

The view spills onto quiet roads and dusty lanes, affording a glimpse of authentic Stanford life passing by - a restful joy to savor. The expansive garden is a private and secure haven in which to while away your free time, with fruit trees, a veggie patch, and prolific lavender bushes.

The Whole Truth Retreat specializes in spiritual retreats to support and guide you through times of transformation, healing, and awakening. Their unique program of physical cleansing, herbal treatments, meditation and yoga, creative process, nature immersion, and the exploration of expanded states of consciousness forms a strong container in which awareness can grow.


Upon booking, the specifics of your retreat will be planned via a Skype call according to your personal needs, interests, preferences, and Tasha's recommendations. Each day incorporates either a morning or afternoon session with Tasha, engaged in one of the following:

  • Yogic teachings (yoga philosophy / energetic anatomy)
  • Yogic practice (breathwork / cleansing practices / pranic practices)
  • Meditation instruction and practice (traditional Buddhist meditation and mindfulness)

  • Intuitive movement / free dance (spontaneous expression and embodiment)
  • Natural health talk (guidance on natural living, natural eating, and natural medicine)

Stanford Village Retreat is ideally positioned for a quiet stay in Stanford Village, just a two-minute stroll from the main street, with its galleries and antique shops. Situated two hours from Cape Town, Stanford Village Retreat is a tranquil setting for your stay.

The Klein River offers wonderful river walks, bird watching, and swimming and is just five minutes away on foot. Pristine, wild beaches, which in season offer some of the best land-based whale watching in the world, are just 10-minute drive away at Walker Bay and De Kelders.

The fruit, vegetables, and herbs used as the main part of all of the delicious menu options are mostly sourced locally and organically, some being grown, chemical-free on-site in the garden.

The Whole Truth Retreat grows its own wheatgrass and microgreens, vibrant with life force and phytonutrients for only-just-harvested plant power. Preferring supplements from natural sources, The Whole Truth Retreat wild harvests the renowned South African remedy Aloe ferox for juicing and brew its own alkalizing apple cider vinegar tonic.

Accompanying the juice cleanse, powerful natural detoxifying and nutritional supplements are provided, as well as an optional additional supplementation program tailored to your specific needs.

The quality, freshness, and life force in the produce used makes a vast difference to the depth and power of the cleansing / healing processes. Feeding yourself cleanly, lightly, and naturally allows you to experience your body in a state of wellness that you may never have felt before.

All meal options offer excellent, highly accessible nutrition and rest the often overloaded digestive system, allowing the body to shift into healing and repair mode. Depending on the length of your stay, you may experience a reduction in inflammation (the precursor to all diseases), increased energy, natural weight loss, the eradication of minor health complaints (eg. mucus conditions, skin complaints, joint stiffness), and a noticeable improvement in more major ones.

Probiotic and fermented foods restore gut health, often a factor in chronic illness or fatigue. If you would like to receive instruction on food preparation in order to support the continuation of healthy eating and cleansing practices on your return home, this is possible. Water fasting or dry fasting support is available on request.

Juice cleanse

This option is excellent for detox, radical physical reset; treating chronic illness and inflammation. This includes three cold-pressed juices at intervals throughout the day, as well as herbal, food, and vitamin supplements tailored to your nutritional / health and healing needs.

Wheat grass, aloe, and rejuvelac are grown / wild harvested / self-made by Tasha, your facilitator. Post juice cleanse raw food is served for a time for the transition out of a juice cleanse can be challenging, and it's an important part of the process to move through gently and with awareness.

Raw food

This option is high in life force and rich in enzymes for better digestion and absorption. Meals are created freshly, using large amounts of fresh fruits and vegetables, and activated seeds, nuts, and grains. Also offered are special creations such as pro-biotic nut cheeses and whole seed crackers dehydrated at a low heat to keep digestive enzymes intact. Healthy desserts are made with natural unrefined sweeteners such as dates and raw honey, which have wonderful health benefits.


This option supports the acid / alkaline balance in your body, your digestive health, and your hormonal balance on an ongoing basis. Without the inclusion of any processed or refined ingredients, this meal program offers light, cooked, whole foods with a largely raw food component, a wonderful introduction to a healing, cleansing diet if a juice cleanse is not appropriate for you at this time.
