Cabins

The Wild Game Inn offers three luxury creekside cabins (12 feet x 22 feet) with two beds in each. The cabins are equipped with shower bathrooms. You can choose to stay in the Safari Cabin, the Patriot Cabin, or the Country Fishermen Cabin. All cabins and rooms are non-smoking.

Main Lodge

The Wild Game Inn also offers one guest room and one bedroom suite in the main lodge. A hot tub is available at the lodge. The main lodge bedroom suite has breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and a year-round creek. The hot tub / spa is a footstep away which has creekside views. All cabins and rooms are non-smoking.

Program

The many miles of trails on the West Fork Ranger District provide opportunities ranging from short day-trips to extended back-country trips. Wilderness areas can be a wonderful experience, but caution is advised. Areas for OHV trail riding at West Fork Ranger District include:

Colter Creek Trail #606

The Colter Creek trail is 3.5 miles long. It begins at Trail #673 and ends at Road #5734. The trail is open for the following uses: horseback riding, motorcycle trail riding, and day hiking. It was cleared in 2009.

Drop Creek Trail #248

The Drop Creek trail is 7.5 miles long. It begins at Trail #55 and ends at Trail #673. The trail is open for the following uses: horseback riding and motorcycle trail riding. It was fire damaged in 2007 and cleared to Overwhich Falls in August 2010.

Overwhich Creek Trail #674 to the waterfalls.

The Overwhich Creek trail is 24 miles long. It begins at Road #5703 and ends at Trail #185. The trail is open for the following uses: horseback riding, motorcycle trail riding, and hiking. It was cleared in 2010.

Piquett Divide Trail #676

The Piquett Divide trail is 9 miles long. It begins at Road #5720 and ends at Trail #55. The trail is open for the following uses: horseback riding and motorcycle trail riding. It was fire damaged in 2007.

Shields Creek Trail #673

The Shields Creek trail is 6.1 miles long. It begins at Trail #248 - Overwhich Falls and ends at Road #5734. The trail is open for the following uses: horseback riding and motorcycle trail riding. It was fire damaged in 2007. The trail was cleared in 2010.

Shook Mountain-Medicine Point Trail # 601.1

The Shook Mountain-Medicine Point trail is 11.3 miles long. It begins at Road #731 and ends at Road #5730. The trail is open for the following uses: horseback riding and motorcycle trail riding. It was fire damaged in 2007.

This tour will take place in Darby, USA. The Wild Game Inn is happy to open their beautiful bed and breakfast in Darby, Montana to the many visitors that come to the "Jewel of the Big Sky" area. Enjoy some of the best things that the Bitterroot Mountain Valley has to offer or just go for a hike on their beautiful property, which is on 2,091 square miles (1.33 million acres) of the state's National Forest Land. Nestled between two mountain ranges, the Bitterroots on the west side and the Sapphires on the east, the Bitterroot Valley has enticed people from all walks of life. You can find many new memories from their beautiful property and surrounding area.

There are many local events that people come back for time after time to enjoy here in the beautiful city of Darby, Montana. Darby is the home of some of the best recreation spots in the US, including biking, hiking, skiing, snowmobiling, whitewater rafting, kayaking, as well as wildlife and nature viewing. Painted Rocks Reservoir is less than one mile and Lake Como is 38 miles from the property.

Just at their back door is a wildlife paradise. The Bitterroot offer's big game species including bear, elk, whitetail and mule deer, mountain lion, wolf, and moose. Do not forget the birds which include grouse, pheasant, duck, and geese. For those people who just want to photograph wildlife or birders, there is an abundance of wildlife species at the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge, Teller Wildlife Refuge, as well as Broad Ax and Skalkaho Wildlife Preserve which are wonderful destinations for your viewing. There are many events in Darby each year including Darby Logger Days, Elite Bull Riding - national bull riding and rodeo competition, Darby Dog Derby, and the Lake Como Triathlon.
