Le Bamboo (where this training takes place)

A four-star ocean-view boutique resort offering bohemian bungalows with lush garden views, queen beds, wardrobes, desks, and small fridges. There is a great cafe and an amazing ocean-view infinity pool.

3D Homestay (five minutes walk)

A budget ocean-view resort with private rooms and shared rooms with two beds. All rooms have air-conditioners, balconies, TVs, mini-fridges, bathrooms, towels, toiletries, and free Wi-Fi.

Taman Sari (five minutes walk)

Breathwork, meditation, yoga, and the Ayurvedic diet include ancient practices going back thousands of years offering insight into to the true nature of reality. ULU Yoga’s carefully structured retreat can lead to a profound life-changing transformation. Discover your true self, and take control over your life. Let go of destructive habits and false beliefs. Discover the divinity within you by living fully in the eternal bliss of the present moment with absolute clarity.

Meditation

Each morning begins with meditation to cultivate mental clarity, concentration, and inner peace. Practices include: vipassana (mindfulness meditation), mantra meditation, mala meditation, transcendental meditation (TM), loving-kindness meditation, energetic body scanning, guided visualization, trataka meditation (candle gazing), walking meditation, and more. In the evening you are welcome to do additional self-practice in the yoga shala.

Pranayama and Breathwork practice

Involves the conscious regulation of breath to enhance physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing), Kapalabhati (Skull Shining Breath), Bhastrika (Bellows Breath), Ujjayi (Victorious Breath), Sheetali (Cooling Breath), Sheetkari (Hissing Breath), Nadi Shodhana (Nadi Cleansing or Channel Purification), Bhramari (Bee Breath), Holotropic Breathwork, Wim Hof Method, Box Breathing (Square Breathing), Deep Diaphragmatic Breathing (Belly Breathing), 3 Step Breathing, TVR Universal Breathing.

Yoga practice

Each morning begins with a traditional hatha or vinyasa yoga with options for beginner and advanced leveled. The evenings include a restorative yin yoga or aerial yoga for deep release and spinal traction. Each day follows a special theme to unify the other teachings of meditation and breathwork. Classes are beginner friendly and do not require any previous training or advanced level of fitness.

Group sharing

Let’s get to know each other and connect on a deeper more personal level. How are you feeling? Why are you here? What are you struggling with in life? How we can modify this course to best serve your individual needs. How can you integrate the wisdom and experience of this course into your daily life back home to create a happier healthier life?

Breathwork training

Examine ancient pranayama and modern breathwork techniques with a more detailed look behind their history, philosophy, energetics and anatomy. Follow the development of breathwork over thousands of years from the yoga sutras to emerging biohacking techniques enhanced by modern scientific research.

Kirtan and Sound Healing

Kirtan is the perfect union of breathwork and meditation, a mystical journey of inner divinity. Kirtan can be sung without committing to any belief in Hindu Gods, and enjoyed simply as universal energetic vibrations, connecting you with the very source of life. Kirtan can be wild with ecstatic dancing, or passive with sound healing Tibetan bowls. Classes may feature live musicians, audio tracks, or guided call and response.

ULU Yoga

ULU stands for Universal Love and Understanding. ULU Yoga honors the sacred roots of traditional yoga, but also loves to have fun and explore creative new styles like aerial and acro yoga. Since 2014 ULU Yoga has certified thousands of new instructors, running Yoga Teacher Trainings and Retreats every month in Bali and Thailand. Guest Instructors and Online Training

Teaching online, and in Bali for the June Retreat, is our most honored guest Dr. Kalpana Karia. Widely regarded as one of the world’s foremost scholars of yoga, Kalpana has received awards from the Prime Minister of India, British School of Yoga, and countless more prestigious institutions for her lifetime of achievements. Kalpana began intensive studies as a young child in 1964, training with Sivananda Saraswati, BKS Iyengar, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Sadhugu, Dr. Joe Dispenza, and many more masters. For over six decades Kalpana has authored several books on yoga, produced a yoga TV series, and given thousands of seminars. In addition to yoga, Dr. Kalpana worked for many years as a radiologist in London and operates one of the largest orphanages in Africa. Kalpana has been a close member of the ULU Yoga Family since 2018, teaching in Bali, Thailand, and daily online classes via Kenya and India.

Certificate of Attendance

All participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance from ULU Yoga which is a RYS-500 hour Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance and YACEP Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider. Members of Yoga Alliance can log this retreat as Additional Training hours.

Online Studies

As a special bonus, all retreat members will receive ULU Yoga’s 30 Hour Online Breathwork Facilitator Certification course. The online studies include 30 hours of videos. To complete the course you must submit 60 min video demonstrating your ability to teach a variety of breathwork practices. Members of Yoga Alliance can log this course as Additional Training hours.

Skill level and Requirements

This retreat is suitable for all ages and levels. No previous yoga experience is required. Classes are gentle and supportive of those with special needs. You may enjoy this as a stress-free retreat and skip any classes you wish, or do additional studies to go deeper and gain certification.

Included excursions

Each afternoon includes a special excursion to a famous tourist destination like Bingin Beach, Padang Padang Beach, Dreamland Beach, Suluban Cave, or Uluwatu Temple. You will also visit a luxury ocean view detox centre with multiple saunas, cold plunge, and sound dome. In the evening you can explore special events such as ecstatic dance and contact improv (additional $10). Or you can skip these outings and simply relax at the resort's beautiful ocean view infinity pool, connecting with other retreat guests, enjoying personal time, journaling, or doing additional self-practice or meditation in the yoga shala.
