Explore the best of Vietnam in one amazing holiday! In the north, you will see the capital of Hanoi and the serene karst islands of Halong Bay. Traveling by train, you will reach the ancient city of Hoi An and the imperial city of Hue, where you can learn about local culture and cuisines. Afterward, you will fly to Nha Trang, a popular beach retreat for locals. Finally, you will go on a trip south to Vietnam's largest bustling city, Ho Chi Minh. Here you will discover the Cu Chi Tunnels and join a foodie tour to taste authentic Vietnamese food. The tour will end with a Mekong excursion, including a visit to Cai Be floating market.
Accommodation for this tour is based on a shared twin or double room in a three-star hotel. A higher room grade can be arranged, subject to availability and additional charge, and customers are advised that in some cases when the selected hotels are fully booked, Vietnamese Private Tours will offer alternative accommodation in a hotel of equal category.
Upon arrival, the shuttle bus and guide of Vietnamese Private Tours will be holding a sign with your name and will welcome you at Noi Bai International Airport (HAN) and transfer you to your hotel for check-in. Afterward, you are free to spend your time at leisure or just relax at the hotel. Overnight will be in Hanoi.
After breakfast, your guide will pick you up at the hotel at 8:00 a.m. Sightseeing today includes exploring Vietnam’s charming capital. With its wide tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes, and ancient oriental pagodas, Hanoi's key sites include the Ho Chi Minh Complex (Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and stilt house), the Presidential Palace, the nearby One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, the West Lake including the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda, and one of the city’s museums (a choice between the History Museum and the Ethnology Museum).
You will end the day’s explorations by enjoying a traditional water puppet show before a three-hour foodie tour by walking in the Old Quarter. This is a great opportunity to taste various local street foods like pho and bun cha and enjoy Vietnamese coffee before returning to the hotel. Overnight will be in Hanoi.
Your guide and shuttle bus will pick you up at the lobby of the hotel at 8:00 to 8:20 a.m. You will start your journey east to Halong Bay, through picturesque rice-farming villages of the Red River Delta, where you can see everyday Vietnamese village life. On arrival, you will board a beautiful traditional junk and spend a full day and night cruising the bay’s 3,000 magnificent limestone islets.
In the evening, when the boat is anchored in the middle of the stunning lagoon, you will enjoy a wonderful seafood meal, and later, there is an opportunity for an evening swim from the side of the boat. Spend the night on the luxurious boat
Wake up early and participate in tai chi on the top deck or simply relax and enjoy the sunrise over the bay’s towering islands. Enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea before setting out to explore nearby islands by rowboat. Return to the junk for breakfast then take advantage of the sundeck and admire the amazing rock formations of Halong.
Have brunch on board the boat before returning to Halong pier to get back Hanoi airport for your flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival, your driver will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel and drop you off at Hanoi train station to catch a night train to Hue. Overnight will be in a shared 4 berths-cabin with air-conditioning.
Arrive Hue in the morning. Your guide will welcome you at the train station, and you are going to have breakfast with delicious Bun Bo Hue. After breakfast, take a sightseeing tour of the ancient capital of Vietnam. You will board on the boat for a cruise on the romantic Perfume River, heading out for the countryside.
Stop to visit the charming Lady Pagoda (Thien Mu Pagoda). Thien Mu Pagoda is considered the symbol of Hue and of Buddhism in Vietnam. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to visit Hue Citadel in the afternoon and Dong Ba Market before getting to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight will be in Hue.
After checkout, take the scenic route to Hoi An, a UNESCO world heritage site via Hai Van pass. Upon arrival in Hoi An, check in to your hotel, and you will be free on your own to visit a lovely old-style house, Japanese Bridge, a Chinese temple, and the market. Spend the night in Hoi An.
At 9:00 a.m., enjoy cycling through the countryside to the small farming community of Tra Que Vegetable Village. There you can enjoy the lush green countryside and see the farmers at work. Later learn to make Vietnamese spring roll and experience foot massage by herbs. Enjoy a free afternoon back in Hoi An for shopping. Overnight will be in Hoi An.
You have the day free until your transfer to Da Nang airport for your flight to Nha Trang. Upon arrival, your driver will pick you up at the airport and transfer to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free for you to spend at leisure. Overnight will be in Nha Trang.
For two days, you will be free to enjoy the beach, relax at the hotel, or shop around. Overnight will be in Nha Trang.
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Ho Chi Minh. Upon arrival at Ho Chi Minh, you will be welcomed by your tour guide and driver and transferred to your hotel. At 1:00 p.m., your guide will pick you up at the hotel, and you will take a short sightseeing of the Reunification and visit Notre Dame Cathedral, the Central Post Office, and the War Remnants Museum. The rest of the day is free for shopping at Ben Thanh Market. Overnight will be in Ho Chi Minh.
After breakfast, you will have a half-day excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels. At its height, the tunnel system stretched over 250 kilometers, from Saigon to the Cambodian border and was three levels deep. The network included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers, and kitchens.
Today, the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction, giving you a unique experience and a feel of what underground life during the U.S.-Vietnam War must have been like. Return to Ho Chi Minh in the afternoon.
At 6:00 p.m., your guide will pick you up at the hotel, and you will join an XO Foodie Tour by night. This is the most fantastic way to experience Saigon by taking the night tour with girls on a motorbike. You will be taken to the most popular street stalls and hidden alleyways in the city and showed where the locals really love to eat. Delight your palate and let them fill your tummy with delicious and authentic Vietnamese food. The tour ends at about 9:00 p.m. Overnight will be in Ho Chi Minh City.
After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up at 8:00 a.m. to visit one of the most visited regions of the Mekong Delta. You will visit Cai be floating market, cruising among the local barges stuffed full of fruits and vegetables. Visit some local workshops then enjoy a delicious lunch served at a local house in the cool shade of An Binh Island’s orchards.
In the afternoon, take a traditional rowboat and venture deeper into the countryside, floating through narrow canals to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Stop at a nursery garden to discover how farmers along the delta produce their world-famous fruits and vegetables. The cruise ends in Vinh Long. Get on a bus and drive back to Ho Chi Minh.
You can spend today at leisure until your transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
