Accommodation

Check-in Time:
10:00

Wadi Rum Quiet Village

The campsite's guests can choose either to sleep in a tent or under a million stars and the silver moon. This means that you can sleep outside of the tent too. The tents can accommodate one to six persons and you will not be sharing with random guests.

As they believe in the beauty of the Bedouin life, they keep in mind the needs of tourists and the difficulties they may encounter by living there. Hence, they've built some modern facilities as similar as they could to the Bedouin style, including toilets and hot water sources, all to go along with the Bedouin food, coffee, and tea that they serve.

Program

First day

After arriving at Wadi Rum visitor center, Wadi Rum Quiet Village Camp's representative will meet and assist you through the registration procedure. The trip will start from the village. You will visit Lawrence of Arabia’s spring, then go to Khazali Canyon, where you will see ancient Nabataean inscriptions.

After this, you will see the inscriptions in Wadi um ‘Ishrin as well, and climb the golden sand dunes. Then, you will drive to Lawrence’s house and Mahama Canyon, where you can go on foot if you want to - a half an hour-walk to see the beautiful formations of the canyon combined with green plants from place to place.

After this stop, you will find some shade to have lunch and take a small break before going to the next stop.

In the afternoon, you will visit Mushroom Rock, then Jebel Burdah arch and Um Fruth arch, where you can climb the natural bridge (20 m high) and have a beautiful view from up top. Before reaching the camp, you will stop at the Red Sand (between the white and the red area), driving slowly to the spot where you can see an amazing sunset over the desert.

Reaching the camp at dusk, you will enjoy a traditional dinner and a relaxing evening by the fire with music and Bedouin tea. You can choose to either sleep in a tent or under a million stars and the silver moon, watching the colorful Milky Way, and, with a little bit of luck, some shooting stars.

Second day

You will start from Rum village, driving you by jeep to Jabal Al Hash, located in the Al Forah area, close to the Jordanian - Saudi Arabian border. This mountain is very easy to climb for anyone who is inexperienced or who is in search of a simple hike.

You and your guide will start hiking from the eastern side of the mountain in the Um Snenah Valley, and go through the valley to the top. After that, you will get down on the northwestern side of the mountain to Wadi Nuqra.

The duration of this hike is approximately five hours long, being probably the most beautiful mountain in Wadi Rum to hike on. Because when you arrive at the highest point (1700 m above sea level), you will see all the different colors blended together into Wadi Rum.

After reaching the top, you will descend the mountain and can rest for one hour, while your guide starts cooking a delicious lunch. After the meal, you will visit the Rock Bridge in the White Area and El Kettar Spring, returning to the camp where in you will witness a golden sunset over the dunes.

Third day

Jeep service back to Wadi Rum village is included in the package. If you would like to return to the village by camel instead, Wadi Rum Quiet Village Camp can arrange a camel trek for you in the morning (a two-hour ride), for an additional cost of 25 JOD per camel.

Location

The campsite offers a wide range of accommodation in the Wadi Rum desert. As Bedouin tribes, they are quite picky with the sites where they reside in. Thus, they have chosen the site to be suitable for people’s needs and for safety.

The camp is located in the western side, sheltered by a great mountain to protect it from wind and giving it stunning morning sunshine, as well as being the center location among touristy sites and climbing zones.

Prices (depending on the season) are between 40 JOD and 80 JOD for one way, so it may be cheaper going by plane than by taxi concerning this route!

From Aqaba, you can take a taxi to Wadi Rum, which will be around 25 JD. There is also the option to take a minibus.

Arrival by taxi

Wadi Rum Quiet Village Camp can arrange taxis to take you to Wadi Rum from any point in Jordan and also from Wadi Rum to different destinations. They don’t take commission of any kind, so you will only pay the driver. The drivers are eager to work for them and the village makes sure that they choose reliable drivers. If they send you a driver, you can be certain that he is trustworthy in every way.

The driver will bring you directly to the camp's office in Wadi Rum, which will make things easier for you and them. The easiest way will be if the taxi picks you up at your hotel. Give them the time that is the most convenient for you and the driver will be there.

If there are any difficulties, please contact Wadi Rum Quiet Village Camp. You won’t need to book a driver a long time in advance. The evening before is usually enough notice.

For other routes, they will need to ask the driver what he will charge. He will give an honest and realistic price, since Wadi Rum Quiet Village Camp has a pretty good idea what the cost should be.

If you will arrive at the campsite on your own, just tell the driver that you want to go to the Wadi Rum Quiet Village in the village of Wadi Rum. This is the easiest way because they don’t have street names in the village.

They also recommend to forward the camp's phone number to the driver. He can call so that they can arrange the most comfortable way to bring you to their office. Afterwards, you’ll start with your tour to the desert, which is just a few meters away from there.
