Teresa comes from a background in performing arts. She trained at the Laban Center of Movement and Dance in London UK before changing direction to her path of yoga and Pilates. Her qualifications include a Diploma in Dance Theater and Teaching, 200 hours of Hatha Yoga BSYA, and 500 hours of Advanced Ashtanga Vinyasa IIYA Yoga Alliance. Teresa is also a Master or teacher of Reiki and Seichem Tera-mai system of natural healing.

The Yoga Retreat was founded by Teresa and Kes Kennard, passionate yoga teachers who trained in Ashtanga under Paramaguru R.Sharath Jois, the grandson and student of the greatest Ashtanga master K. Pattabhi Jois, in Mysore, India. Kes received authorization in March 2016 from his teacher R.Sharath Jois. Kes also gained 500 hours of Advanced Ashtanga Vinyasa IIYA Yoga Alliance.
