Spain Meditation and Yoga Retreat

Experience a traditional Ashtanga (8 limbs) retreat with restorative and meditation sessions. This program is open to total beginners and experienced practitioners. This very special retreat will offer early morning Mysore (self-practice) sessions for those with Ashtanga experience and other morning classes for beginners or those new to the Ashtanga yoga method. Afternoons will consist of free time after lunch to rest, read, swim in the beautiful pool, or explore the fabulous island of La Gomera.

Finca Argaga

The accommodations will be shared, maximum room share will be four people and a minimum of two. The house has been recently refurbished so everything is new. The water is filtered and comes from a natural spring, and the whole house provides this at every tap, no matter which tap you drink from or which shower you use.

The pool was painted fresh last month. There are three garden terraces available to guests. There are birds that nest in the cliffs around the house called "Pardelas". The house is extremely private and protected, providing a sense of exclusivity. The local pebble beach is 100 meters from the house, and again, exclusive.

There is a photovoltaic system that generates electricity from the sun, so they're very eco-friendly. The stars at night are breathtaking and they have lots of outdoor beds. They have good Wi-Fi and a cinema screen for pleasure or presentations.

Program

Arrival is the evening of August 7, 2022, and departure is on the morning of August 14, 202. There are six full days on retreat plus an evening session on arrival and a morning session on departure.

In the afternoons, you will have a mix of Restorative/Yin yoga sessions with breathing (pranayama) techniques and look at some techniques and anatomy. In the evenings, you will have guided meditation and philosophy discussions.

All aspects of Ashtanga (8-limbed path of yoga) will be taught daily:

  • 3. Asana (Postures)
  • 4. Pranayama (Breath extension)
  • 5. Pratyahara (Sense withdrawal)
  • 6. Dhyana (Concentration)
  • 7. Dharana (Meditation)
  • 8. Samadhi (Absorption)

During the day, you will be free to explore the island's markets, beaches, have beautiful walks, and see dolphins!

Location

There are shops, restaurants, organic food, a Sunday market (might happen once a month), dolphin/whale tours, kayak/paddleboard hire, mountain bike hire, beaches (one nudist), and beautiful walks all over the island. Excursions are either dolphin/whale tours or hikes around the island.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by taxi

A taxi from the ferry is around 60 EUR and takes an hour. It is suggested for people share a taxi to reduce the cost. If you collaborate with other visitors on the retreat, you can share a taxi to the venue. Meeting up can be organized nearer the time.

Arrival by bus

There are buses that are not so frequent, but they do coincide with the ferries. The bus costs 6 EUR (cash only and paid directly to the driver) and takes almost two hours.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 25% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 30 days before arrival.
