Programme
Day 1: Panjim - Mandrem, North Goa (140 kilometers / 87 miles)
You will begin the day with a short ride to the architectural epicenter of Goa, namely Old Goa. You will be teleported to another land as you ride along tree-lined roads and witness the stunning architecture, an ode to times bygone and Goa's tryst with Portuguese culture.
Back to the bikes and onto a ferry that will take you to one of Goa's many (river) islands. Divar and Charao are well connected and make for a stunning backcountry circuit with low traffic and idyllic village-scapes. The Salim Ali bird sanctuary is located on Chorao island which means that the skies and marshes are a riot of colors and teeming with birdlife.
You will take a break for lunch before heading into the hills and the northwestern border of the state. Low traffic and mountain roads ensure we escape the afternoon heat as you twist your way to the northernmost point of Goa, Querim (Keri).
A short ride before sunset will take you to your hotel at Mandrem, one of the most relaxing beaches of North Goa. Sundowner watching the sky turn acid colors and finish with a seafood meal at the in-house restaurant.
Day 2: Mandrem - Agonda, South Goa (160 kilometers / 99 miles)
You can have an optional early sunrise yoga session followed by a healthy breakfast at one of the popular food establishments that North Goa is renowned for. Leave the busy coastal route and head inland towards the village of Aldona.
Old Portuguese style bungalows and lush countryside showcase a lesser-known Goa, as you ride along black tarmac snaking through an ocean of green. Making your way towards the Karnataka border at Castle Rock, ride deep into the Western Ghats through forests that are as ancient as Earth.
One of the oldest mountain ranges in the world, this contiguous chain of volcanic mountains runs 2500 kilometers from Gujarat to Kerala, hosting remarkable biodiversity that you will witness first hand.
The final stretch of riding takes you back to the coastline, as you race against the sun to get to Agonda. Your halt tonight is the jewel of South Goa, a picture-postcard stretch of sand, surf, and coconut palms. Have some sundowners, massage, or chill.
Day 3: Agonda - Gokarna (100 kilometers / 62 miles)
An easy start since today's ride is fairly short and straightforward. Exit Goa on NH 66, the soon to be completed multi-lane expressway that races along the West Coast of India. The industrialized look of Karwar takes away some of the magic as does riding on the expressway, but fret not as Your destination today is the legendary OM Beach.
Gokarna, the nearby village is one of the Jyotirlinga, thereby a popular pilgrimage center, but sharing its shoreline lies the beautiful OM Beach, which has accorded legendary status to this stretch of the ocean.
Approachable in the past only by a longish trek, it was the perfect getaway for tourists who were getting tired of the overcrowding on the beaches of Goa. A new road keeps the beach less secluded now, but once the sun starts going down, it's easy to understand why this was such a hard to keep secret. Just relax by the beach or take an invigorating walk along the cliff.
Day 4: Gokarna - Dandeli (160 kilometers / 99 miles)
Say goodbye to the coast as you make your way into the Western Ghats, yet again. Leave the expressway and reduce the kilometers to backtrack into Goa, so you take a road approach through Karnataka and climb into the heart of the hills.
The interesting part is that the road traces an almost parallel to the Goa state boundary. The landscape same on either side of the imaginary line but different because a man decided it needed to be so.
A change in temperature, the traffic, and the quality of roads indicate that you are back in moto-adventure territory. Optional off-road trails and secret streams and waterfalls are today's possibilities.
Stay overnight today in the hills, a distinct change from the previous three nights. The call of cicadas and roaring bonfires will lull you into a deep slumber with dreams (or not) of big cats prowling in the dark.
Day 5: Dandeli - Panjim (140 kilometers / 87 miles)
You will begin post breakfast, staying in the Western Ghats as you re-enter Goa from the southeast. An optional off-road track presents an interesting challenge if you are up to it. Alternatively, an easy, twisting road keeps you company as you descend into the fertile plains of Goa.
You will reach Panjim before sunset. Leave your bikes at the designated point and onward to a farewell drink/meal.

Lieu
Goa is a state, but also a state of mind. Located between the Western Ghats and the Arabian Sea, this beach paradise has a rich culture of seafood, beach culture, coastline roads, small laid back villages, and varied overall visual possibilities on two wheels.
Jewels in the form of little known beaches dot the coastline. Their unassuming entrances open up through casuarina, areca trees, and coconut plantations that contrast distant views of the Western Ghats which slip in and out (of view). All the while estuaries cutting through the landscape on their journey to the Arabian sea.
The villages and old towns of this region still retain a mix of Indian and Portuguese coastal culture unique only to this part of the country. There are two sides to Goa and your journey takes you in the sides that are seldom seen. A relaxed journey back in time, away from the tourist spots and deeper into how Goa used to be.
Repas
Food is a mix of local and continental, allowing you to experience the local cuisine but ensuring that your taste buds are not overpowered by the spicy Indian fare.
Chai or the omnipresent Indian tea is a very important part of your trip. From early morning starts to your numerous stops by the road, this (often) milky and sweet beverage is like a road trip elixir, providing a much-needed break for the bum sore you will inevitably experience on these roads.
