Fun and Learning in Misse

This was a very relaxed learning environment. We made some traditional French foods and learned some new techniques. Our lunch at a Michelin starred restaurant was special as were the trips to the market. Aaron is a great guy!

A Culinary adventure......now off my bucket list

Authentic place where you can just relax and be absorbed by the sense of the place. I was the very lucky one I was on my own and this was just brilliant, Aaron's style and approach to cooking is just lovely and he wants to know what you want from the course and what food you want to cook. On some courses I have attended before they are more a demonstration rather than just been so involved with food choice, preparation and cooking. I felt I could ask the most basic or simple questions about the menu we were preparing and Aaron answered very simply and politely about everything. Unlike some cooks and chefs Aaron has no big ego and just looks after you so well. His understanding of textures and flavours is excellent and is open to new suggestions and ideas.

The food, wine and drinks provided were exceptional. The equipment and knives etc were fabulous. If you are prepared to work hard , listen and watch you will benefit from the course.

Aaron's passion for cooking is just inspiring.

Food, conversation and Learning

The informality, without losing a focus on learning was a highlight of the Loire Kitchen. Aaron knows his subject and his willingness to adapt according to the aspirations of his students transformed this experience. The combination of cooking students and writers in residence made for fun and meaningful mealtime conversations. I can’t recommend this experience enough!

A remarkable week

A highlight was the delightful conversations we had with Aaron. He went out of his way for us. On our last day he had a hot breakfast prepared for us at 6 am. He went with us the day before to fill our car with gas and bought a couple of pastries for the road. We went home with recipes that we plan to make. I would recommend this getaway.

Aaron did a wonderful job of introducing us to the wide range of wines in the area. He had great cooking tips and provided us with a number of recipes that we tried there and others I'm looking forward to trying at home. It was a great mix of spending time in the kitchen as well as exploring the local area which is quite scenic. Very relaxing.
