La Hacienda Cancun

La Hacienda Cancun is nestled in the heart of a natural parc, deep in the breathtaking beauty of the jungle, bursting with life, cheery monkeys, adorable agoutis, multicolored birds and so much more ; for who likes to walk, you'll have an endless supply of daily marveling there, and even without leaving the sanctuary of La Hacienda, the sheer gorgeousness of the jungle surrounds you at every moment ; it is nothing short of a delight. Yvi's food was delicious, Sofia's practices and chants were embodied, serene, rich and magnificent, Sara's guidance, patience and flexibility was truly amazing, the Temazcal was WONDERFUL, the ceremonies so special and powerful... all in all the experience was mind-opening, refreshing, nourishing ; a reset of body, mind & spirit.

two things to know, in case they may be a deal-breaker for who is considering a visit to La Hacienda : due to the proximity to Cancun's airport, there are planes flying low above all day and night, and the beds are hard (but maybe this depends on the rooms!)

this being said, if you can overlook those details, and you feel called to attend a retreat at Sara and her family's, I can only recommend you follow this instinct. I did a two week detox there, find myself profoundly glad that I did, and would have happily stayed for months!

My sincere thanks to everyone involved in this experience. I carry you in my heart, wish to see you all again, and hope my paths bring me back to Mexico and El Ramonal in the near future <3

Where to begin?! I returned from my experience - 5 day vision quest - which was one of the best decisions in my 4 decades of life!

I was excited but slightly nervous before arriving - most of these activities and medicines were new to me - but i was welcomed to a haven with beautiful surroundings and wonderful, caring people.

The leader Sara was attentive and caring, and took time to address each persons individual needs, to help guide them through their stay.

Some parts of the vision quest are challenging emotionally and physically. But we were guided through these really well, and prepared for what to expect.

Sofia led the yoga and chanting sessions. These are things that I'm usually uncomfortable with, but her calm and magical nature made these really valuable.

Shaman Rene was an exceptional guide through the Kambo & ayahuasca journey. He created an incredible setting, with unbelievable music, and also looked after each person there so we felt safe and secure throughout.

The place is wonderful, in the forest with monkeys in the trees above. A nice room to myself, with hammock outside. I strongly suggest combining this with an effort to 'digital detox' - either switch off or reduce use of phones/computers to help absorb more of the positive energy around

I thank everyone involved for the experience, the lessons, and Hacienda will always have a special place in my heart - and i hope to return again

It was such a beautiful and serene experience to participate in all the different ceremonies. I highly recommend this place for someone who wants to get a deep insight into their psyche with guided meditation.

The retreat covers 3 ceremonies, all food and lodging for 5 days and four nights. The ceremonies were difficult, but safe and quite transformative. The forest on the property were peaceful and lovely. The room was large with a desk, wardrobe, bathroom, walk in shower and comfortable bed. The food was excellent and there is a nice pool you can swim in.

Family run little healing retreat was just what I needed. Such a beautiful little property with such loving beautiful people. Would highly recommend

This retreat center is a beautiful haven for nature lovers, tucked away in a gated area of the jungle just outside Cancun's city lines. I did most of this retreat one-on-one with the shaman and other instructors who were very informative and made my experience feel very special. The staff was so polite, trustworthy, and knowledgable; they made me feel very safe and welcomed while traveling solo. The vegetarian meals were delicious and refreshing, and the accommodations were clean and air-conditioned. The ceremonies were INCREDIBLE, and I wish I could say more about it, but your experience will be unique to you. The Bufo ceremony was a truly revelational experience that I will never forget! I feel as though my level of consciousness is now heightened, and I'm more aware of the flowing spiritual energy wrapped in our physical world. It's a reminder of the mysteries of love and faith both within our universe, and beyond the realm of human life.

A beautiful breathing space near Cancun

La Hacienda Cancun is an intimate and family-owned, jungle paradise just 20 minutes from CUN airport! You feel the care and love. I arrived later than intended and accommodations were made as to the timing of events of the retreat without a problem. It just flowed, as did every day. I did an immersive retreat where I did not have to leave the property except to get the US mandatory COVID test the day prior to departure. It was arranged without difficulty. My time there was soul-satisfying, needed more than I knew, and offered me sweet respite and rest. The Temazacal ceremonies brought cleansing of mind, body, and soul. The yoga was varied, thoughtful, and spiritual. The vegetarian food was delicious and was served with pride and love. Say yes to this, you will not be disappointed!
