About the Experience
Tour was designed for the person who loves hiking in the mountains. To begin, you will enjoy a full city tour of Quito and the Equator Museum. You will then enjoy the Guagua Pichincha hike, and then the Pululahua Volcano Hike.
Next, you will visit the Otavalo Indian Market and the Peguche Waterfall. And don’t forget the Cuicocha Volcano Hike. You will then return to Otavalo and on to Papallacta.
Next, you’ll journey to the Cotopaxi Volcano, and then you will indulge in the Quilotoa Volcano Hike.
The Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival to Quito
On this day, after your international flight to Quito, you will want to rest as much as possible for the beginning of your adventures tomorrow.

Day 2: Quito City Tour and Equator Museum
In the morning, you will visit the historical center of Quito, which includes viewpoints such as Panecillo Hill and the cable car located at 15,600 feet above sea level.
You can enjoy a typical Ecuadorian lunch (extra cost), and in the afternoon your will visit the Intinan Museum located in the Middle of the World, where you can see some experiments and you can step on the actual line that represents the Center of the Earth.

Day 3: Guagua Pichincha Hike
You will leave the hotel early and head toward the Guagua Pichincha Volcano, stopping briefly in the town of Lloa.
You will continue your journey to Cruz Loma, by vehicle, and then on to the volcano, Guagua Pichincha, itself. There, you will enjoy a box lunch with a breathtaking view of the Andes Mountains.
You will bring the day to a close with a drive back to Quito city.

Day 4: Pululahua Volcano Hike
Early in the morning, they will begin the one-hour drive to the Pululahua Geobotanical Reserve.
Once you arrive at the Reserve, you will ready ourselves for the hike from the viewpoint, known as Ventanas, down to the crater, known as Pululahua. Along the way, you will witness the native vegetation of the Andean Forest – this is a very good time for pictures .
Once you reach the bottom of the crater, you will continue to the Pan de Azúcar Hill, where you will enjoy your box lunch. Finally, you will hike to the Hostal in the crater where you will spend the night.

Day 5: Otavalo Market and Peguche Waterfall
After breakfast, you will drive to the Imbabura Province, stopping a few times along the way for pictures. They will continue the drive to the el Lechero Tree Trail to start your hike (4 km) down to Otavalo city – this takes approximately 2 hours, and gives you the opportunity to pass by, and observe the Peguche Waterfall.
In Otavalo city, you will have plenty of time to visit the Indian Market, where you can peruse thousands of hand-made, local items.
On this day, you will visit the Otavalo Indian Market, where you will have time to browse the local crafts, such as blankets, sweaters, shirts, and wall hangings made from llama and alpaca wool. You will also have the time to explore the fruit & vegetable market, and to walk through this lovely and scenic town.

Day 6: Cuicocha Volcano Hike
This day begins with a drive to Cotacachi Cayapas Ecological Reserve, whose entrance is at 10,000 feet above sea level. There, you will begin your hike around Cuicocha Lake, approximately 8 miles. This trail can take anywhere from 3 to 5 hours, but has beautiful landscapes. Also, with some luck, you may see Condors flying near the cliffs.
There is a nice place to stop and enjoy your box lunch before you finish the trail, at which point you will drive to Cotacachi´s Leather Town, where you can shop thousands of beautiful leather items that have been hand-made in Cotacachi.
Finally, to end the day, they will drive back to the hotel in Otavalo.

Day 7: Otavalo to Papallacta Surroundings
You will drive, approximately 3 hours, to the resort known as Termas de Papallacta, and continue to the entrance of the Cayambe Coca Ecological Reserve. There you will begin your 4-mile hike back to the hotel.
During the afternoon, you will have time enjoy the hotel´s gorgeous pool, and to simply relax from the day´s journey.

Day 8: Cotopaxi Volcano
After breakfast you will drive to Cotopaxi National Park, which consists of 99,000 acres, and has a large variety of trails, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and, of course, its Volcano, which will captivate you with its majesty and beauty.
In the area of the lagoon, Limpiopungo, at 12,700 feet, you will find an enormous diversity of flora and fauna – it is also possible to hike around the lagoon´s shore, where native birds of the Andes are plentiful.
When you leave Cotopaxi National Park, you will drive to the Staging Area, at 14,850 feet. In the Staging Area, it is often possible to admire a condor in flight.

Day 9: Quilotoa Volcano Hike
On the way to the Quilotoa Volcano you will stop several times to view the landscapes, and to visit one of the Indian families. It is extremely interesting to know details of their way of life.
After passing Pintores de Tigua (famous for paintings of local artists), and Zumbahua, you will arrive at Quilotoa, there you can decide if you would like to walk into the crater to see the lake and then take a mule ride back to the top again.
Finally, you will head back to the hacienda, Chimbacucho, for the night.

Day 10: Farm Activities back to Quito
In the morning you can choose from a variety of activities, from helping to milk the cows, to simply walking around the hacienda for the breathtaking views, or even relaxing with a good book in front of the fireplace.
Today, you will head back to Quito city.

Day 11: Transfer Out - International Flight Home
Today ends your tour, and you will board your plane back to your hometown destination.
