Traverse Buon Me Thuot, the coastal route to Hoi An, and Hue, before concluding your Vietnam adventure with a captivating glimpse of Hanoi and a relaxing overnight cruise through Halong Bay, perfect for swimming, kayaking, and sunbathing.
Begin your journey in Ho Chi Minh City. Rest at your hotel to acclimate to the time difference with the remainder of the day at your leisure.
Enjoy a captivating full-day city tour, capturing all the highlights and hidden gems. Start your journey with a visit to Dong Khoi Street, or Rue Catinat as it was known during the French occupation, to discover beautiful French colonial buildings from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Appreciate the splendidly restored exteriors of the Opera House, wander up to the Notre Dame Cathedral, then head across the square to the Central Post Office, designed by the French architect Gustave Eiffel. Continue to the former Presidential Palace and City Hall.
In the afternoon, drive to the War Remnants Museum for a vivid glimpse of the American war through a local’s eyes. Later, wander through the intriguing streets of Chinatown. Take a refreshing break at a charming street coffee shop, where you can sip on a delicious brew and observe the fascinating daily life of the locals.
After breakfast, you will be transported 4-hours northeast of the city to the coastal town of Mui Ne. on a relatively flat route passing through desert-like scenery with sand dunes and coastal views. Overnight at a beach resort in Mui Ne.
Embark on a scenic cycling route from town to Bao Loc, passing through highway 28 with stunning views, rice fields, an ethnic village, and natural wonders. Conclude the cycling adventure in Di Linh before transferring to the enchanting city of Da Lat, known for its picturesque landscapes, lakes, waterfalls, and temperate climate that fosters the growth of vibrant flowers and vegetables.
Depart from Dalat by cycling downhill to Tanung until you reach Lak Lake. Traverse through lush fields of coffee and visit a local hill tribe. Ride past many examples of beautiful wooden houses with piles of coffee beans drying in the sun. Late in the afternoon, you will be transferred to Buon Me Thuot.
Buon Me Thuot is considered the coffee capital of Vietnam. From there, you head out on curvaceous roads, relishing the scenic beauty of undulating hills, coffee plantations, and the Earkrong Buk River. Descend towards the coast, passing Ninh Hoa before reaching the lively holiday town of Nha Trang, where turquoise waters and vibrant fishing boats await.
Enjoy a half-day of cycling 30 kms, through small villages and narrow back roads with periodic stops at points of interest. In the midafternoon, return to Nha Trang to laze on the beach.
Travel north to Dai Lanh Beach where you can begin cycling to Tuy Hoa. Pass by quiet villages, rice fields, shrimp farms, salt farms, and coconut palms with stunning costal views. Upon reaching Tuy Hoa, you will be transferred to Quy Nhon where you will spend the night.
Your cycling today will take you past several small villages and backwaters until you reach Quang Ngai. Once here, you can pay a visit to the My Lai Massacre Museum and stroll along secluded beaches or lively local markets. Overnight in Quang Ngai city.
Transfer to Tam Ky where you will begin your cycling to Hoi An –– the romantic, old Chinese trading post, known for its lantern lined roads and wonderful restaurants. This evening, take a walk around the town at night and discover many vendors offering Hoi An specialties.
Enjoy a day of cycling in and outside of Hoi An. Pass through sleepy villages and stop at food vendors to sample delicious central Vietnamese dishes. Later, try creating your own lantern the simple yet colorful handicraft in Hoi An culture.
Transfer 30-minutes north to Danang, where you will begin your cycling on a flat road by the beach before tackling the Hai Van Pass (also known as the ‘Pass of the Ocean Clouds’). If you prefer to avoid this, you can always take a lift in the support vehicle. Enjoy a delicious lunch break at Lang Co Beach before reaching Hue, the former capital of Vietnam, where you will spend the night.
After breakfast, cycle around the city, visiting noteworthy places such as, the Imperial Citadel, Thien Mu pagoda and Tu Duc Tomb. In the evening, hop on a sleeper train to Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi.
Upon your early morning arrival in Hanoi, rest at your hotel and in the late morning, enjoy a tour of the Old Quarter, One Pillar Pagoda and Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum.
In the late morning you will be transferred three hours east to the famed Ha Long Bay. This area is known for its green-blue water and majestic limestone karsts. Upon setting sail on your vessel, enjoy lazing on the sundeck or swimming and kayaking in the bay. Overnight onboard.
Awake early for a Tai Chi session before enjoying a delicious breakfast. Disembark before lunch and drive back to Hanoi to relax at your hotel. In the evening, join your guide for a food tour around lively neighborhoods of Hanoi.

First of all, the guide will be on hand to take care of you. In addition, Indotrek has a 24/7 emergency number in all of the countries where they operate trips for you to call in case of emergency. The duty manager for each country speaks English and will be able to assist you. They have all been trained to address any issue that you may have. However, it is compulsory that you also have your own personal travel insurance for all Indotrek trips.
No problem at all! With every cycling trip there is a support vehicle that will travel with the group at all times. This means that if you ever get tired, you can rest in the vehicle while you get your breath back. There will also be regular breaks for water and snacks, provided in the support vehicle and available to you at all times. Ultimately, how little or far you choose to cycle is entirely up to you and the aim is to make sure you are comfortable.
Yes, mostly! All cycling routes that Indotrek operates are on tried and tested routes by the expert cycling guides and are very rarely within busy cities. You tend to stick to quieter roads outside of the city, in beautiful countryside and away from any major highways. This will guarantee a much more enjoyable, and ultimately safe cycle ride.
