During the eight-days trek, Nepal Trek Ways Pvt Ltd offers you some notoriously high-class luxurious accommodation in Kathmandu for two nights, contrasting with the super basic but cozy homestays in the mountains. The porter will carry your sleeping bags and other necessary gear to ensure your comfortable sleep in the mountains.

Out of the Ten-day trip, the accommodation for six days will be at village homestays, one night at a tourist-standard lodge in Syabrubesi, and two nights at the five-star rated Hotel Dwarika's in Kathmandu.

The trekking start point is an eight-hour drive from your hotel in Kathmandu.

Program

Day 1 - Welcome to Nepal

A representative will greet you at Tribhuvan International Airport upon your arrival in Kathmandu. They will provide you with private transportation to drive to your hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Kathmandu, Hotel Dwarika's.

Day 2 - Drive to Borang via Dhading Beshi (8 hours by 4WD jeep, 1,500 m)

After breakfast, you will drive to the trekking point, Borang. The first four hours will be an easy drive along the Prithvi Highway. Then, the road grows narrow and graveled. Enjoy the true off-road drive along the hilly terrain. You will stay at the Borang village homestay on this night.

Day 3 - Trek to Chalish village (4 hours, 1,600 m)

You will move towards Chalish Village. The trail will go through several villages and lovely waterfalls. You will cross over the huge terrain field with a few hills and ups and downshills. You will see various unique species of birds on the trail.

Shertung is the first major village with a Buddhist community. You will stop over for lunch and then continue toward Chalish Gaun (village). It is a small village with about 50 houses. The people are farmers who are happy to start a new business of hosting tourists in their homestay. They will serve you organic food grown in their field.

Day 4 - Rest day and explore the hot spring

On this day, you will spend a free day exploring around the village and the hot spring. The hot spring is about a two-hour walk along the river. On different occasions, the local villagers take a bath there, and they believe that the hot spring is rich in minerals that can heal the body and make you feel light. Usually, there are no other tourists, so you will have the two hot spring pools all for yourself.

Day 5 - Trek to Labdung (4 hours, 2,100 m)

Wake up early in the morning and begin trekking towards Labdung via Tipling village. Tipling has a comparatively thicker population, with a school and a health post.

On this day, the trail will be mostly uphill and will test your stamina. It goes through interesting small villages and temples. You will trek along the Ada Khola, and after gaining some height, the Ganesh Himal will offer its breathtaking views.

Day 6 - Trek to Somdang (3,271 m) via Pangsang la pass (8 hours, 3,800 m)

This day's highlights will be viewing peaks like Langtang, Ganjala, Lang Shisha, Ganesh Himal, Paldor Peak, Lapsang Karbo, Manaslu, and all Annapurna ranges.

On this day, again, the trail will be mostly uphill until you reach the Pangsang peak at 3,800 m. It is going to be a long walk, so you'll carry a light lunch to eat at a brief stopover on the way. The trail in the beginning goes through a dense rhododendron forest. As you hike up, the view of the valley gets wider and more gorgeous.

After the tree line, the semi-alpine vegetation makes its way, winding up to the pass. From the pass, you can expect gorgeous views of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, Pangsang Peak, and the deep Ruby Valley. After the pass, it'll only be downhill until you reach Somdang, an isolated village with only a few houses and a couple of tea houses between Khurupu Danda (3,710 m) and Marshyang Danda (4,303 m). Overnight stay will be in Somdang.

Day 7 - Trek to Ghatlang (7 hours, 2,337 m)

On this day, you will trek towards Gatlang after having breakfast. The first half of the trail will wind uphill to Khurpudanda (3,710 m), and then the trail will go down through several small villages and present beautiful landscapes.

You will ascend and reach Khurpudanda Pass, and after spending some quality time there, you will continue your trek towards Gatlang. The downhill trail opens up the view of the Langtang range as well. Overnight will be in Ghatlang, a legendary Tamang village.

Day 8 - Trek to Syabru Beshi (5 hours)

The trail on this day will be much easier, so you will start leisurely. Walk through the terrain of cultivated land, and observe the traditional manual agriculture skills. Meet the local farmers and enjoy the view in the backdrop. Upon reaching Syabru Besi, enjoy a proper lodge with better dining and an attached bathroom.

You deserve a good hot shower after six days. Overnight will be at the Syabru Beshi Lodge. This will perhaps be the time to celebrate with a few beers!

Day 9 - Drive to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you will drive back to Kathmandu in a private jeep. It is about a six-hour drive, windy uphill and downhill, but it is a better, mostly silvery, road. Overnight stay and Dinner will be at a hotel in Kathmandu, Hotel Dwarika's.

Day 10- Departure

Break fast will be served at Hotel before you are transferred to Tribhuvan International airport for international flight to home.

Location

Ruby Valley is named after the precious gemstone ruby. The valley has been traced for the possibility of precious stone mining. Unlike other popular trekking trails in Nepal, the Ruby Valley trail is still a very quiet one. The villages are less commercial. They have also been recently trained for homestay hospitality, so the trek will offer you the true nature of remote villages and the gentle villagers who will welcome you with their incredible smiles.

The trek includes walking through terrains, valleys, and lush rhododendron-dense forests. The walk will start from the lower Tamang (local indigenous Buddhist people) village and gradually lead to remote higher alpine terrain passing through PangSang Pass (3,800 m).

The trek will start after driving eight hours by 4WD jeep from Kathmandu to Borang village via Dhading Beshi. After crossing the valley, you will come to Syabru Beshi, another popular trekking point in the Langtang region.
