City Motorbike Tours provided a 'Once in a Lifetime' tour in Nepal for 9 riders, ranging from 49-67 yrs old.
From the initial emails, to airport pick-up, booking in to the first hotel, test riding the Royal Enfields, evening meals at good restaurants, ensuring we all had drinks all day, every day, carrying and transferring luggage each day, checking continually we were all happy, guiding us each day, 4x4 support vehicle following us, explaining land marks, history, cultures and religions, servicing bikes and general attentiveness... it really couldn't have been a much better experience.
In what is a quite poor and undeveloped country, City Motorbike ensured we had fairly high quality accommodation along the route. Don't expect Western 5* standards, but for Nepal it was very good and far better than we had all expected.
The route was quite tough on the Royal Enfields (and I am a 100% off-road Enduro rider), but everyone managed (often much to their own surprise)... but that made the whole experience even more fulfilling.
This particular 6 day trip from Katmandu to Muktinath and back is not for the faint hearted, and certainly not for people who are unfit or have never been off-road... as even the semi-tarmac sections should be classed as off-road, with pot-holes, random rocks, pedestrians, cows and vehicles (expect pretty much any person, bike, car, bus, lorry to come at any direction at any time). But all those crazy things just make it an utterly amazing experience.
