This was our first Ayurveda wellness retreat and our expectations were absolutely exceeded. First of all, we really appreciated the kind and warm welcome we received on the day of our arrival, which immediately put us at ease and in full “relaxation mode”.
The location itself is magical: full of trees, flowers, birds, and other lovely little animals, and beautifully maintained. We stayed in a room in the adjacent house next to the villa and absolutely loved it, especially the open bathroom with a partially open roof and a view of the surrounding trees.
The consultations and programme designed by the two Ayurvedic doctors were very personalised and professional. Each day included about 2 hours of treatments (for example on one day: shirolepa, a full body massage, and a head/shoulder massage), a yoga session, a juice, three Ayurvedic meals, and herbal medicines prescribed by the doctors.
The food was really tasty & varied. I especially loved their dhal, the soups, and the plate of fresh local fruit served after each meal. Portions are on the smaller side, but this is part of the treatment and, especially given the warm weather, you quickly get used to eating a little less.
The yoga sessions were also wonderful and felt like a form of Hatha yoga that stays close to the traditional roots of yoga.
Last but not least, we were truly impressed by the availability, warmth, and professionalism of the staff working at the villa: they are a fantastic team and genuinely wonderful people.
