About the tour
This 11-day motorcycle tour in Northern Thailand allows you to fly in and decompress before joining TBB Tours for a biking experience of a lifetime and then relax for a day in Chiang Mai before flying out. The tour is scheduled to start on a Monday and finish on a Wednesday, fitting in nicely with a two-week holiday slot. The tour has been planned to take in the absolute best that northern Thailand road trip has to offer – fantastic roads, beautiful vistas, quality hotels, and “must see” attractions such as the towns of Pai and Mae Hong Son, the ancient city of Sukhothai, stunning Phu Chi Fa, and of course, the Golden Triangle.
This is a tour suitable for anyone with a reasonable amount of “big bike” experience, and pillions are welcome. You will not ride extremely fast or recklessly, but you must be competent and comfortable with speeds averaging between 80 and 120 kph, covering approximately 2,400 kilometers over the course of the 11 days.
Motorbike
1. Suzuki Vstrom 650 (included)
The Suzuki V Strom 650 is the default tour bike and is especially suitable for those carrying a pillion passenger. This bike is eminently suitable for performing that task in the environments you tour in. It is slightly larger size over the Honda CB500X means more comfort and the larger engine means more power to climb those big hills to get the impressive views. They have kitted these bikes out with crash bars but for the comfort of the pillion passenger, and to provide extra storage, they have also fitted a top box.
2. Honda CB500X (included)
The lovely Honda CB500X is on the fleet for those riders who feel more comfortable astride a physically smaller bike than the Suzuki V Strom. They have been using these bikes since they first came out in 2013 and have nothing but praise for them. Light, nimble, and bombproof, they are the ideal bike for solo riders. To minimize potential tour-ending damage, they fit engine crash bars, and all bikes are equipped with a top box for your convenience.
