This is a mountainous three-day hiking tour on the legendary Mount Olympus, home of ancient Greek Gods. On this three-day hike to Olympus tour, you will go through this monumental natural landscape.
Thickly forested slopes and steep rocky and cloud-covered peaks host more than 1,500 plant species, some of them rare and endemic, as well as wolves, jackals, deer, and some endangered bird and butterfly species.
On the tour, you will stay at Apostolidis and Spilios Agapitos mountain huts, which both offer shelter and food to visitors that stream from all over the world to admire its beauties. Mount Olympus has an extensive network of trails, with a total length exceeding 160 kilometers.
Daily itinerary
Day 1: Gkortsia - Petrostrougga Refuge - Muses Plateau
- Distance: 12 kilometers
- Duration: 8 to 9 hours
The day will start in Litochoro, where the group will meet and head together towards Gkortsia, the starting point of the hiking tour. The route you will cover on the first day is a six-kilometer route, approximately three to four hours long with stops, and is one of the most popular hiking trails on Mount Olympus.
Most of this route passes through dense pine, beech, and fir forests and is in good condition.
You will be heading to the Muses Plateau, passing Skourta Peak, the spectacular horizontal ridge of Laimos, and the famous pass of Yossos. Upon arriving at the plateau, participants can enjoy the unique throne of Zeus and the surrounding peaks.
If the weather permits, they will hike to Prophet Ilias (2,803 meters) and see its chapel.
Day 2: Muses Plateau - Skala - Skolio - Spilios Agapitos refuge

- Duration: 6 to 7 hours
Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the magnificent view and sunrise from the Muses Plateau, and after having breakfast, the group will cross Zonaria, heading for Mount Olympus' high peaks (Skala, Skolio, or Mytikas) according to weather conditions, and end up at the Spilios Agapitos hut for the night.
Day 3: Spilios Agapitos - Prionia - Enipeas Gorge - Gkortsia

- Duration: 6 to 7 hours
During the last day, you will head to Prionia, then to Enipeas Gorge with its wonderful waters, waterfall, and wooden bridges, then the cave of Agios Dionysios and its chapel, and finally, the group will reach Gκortsia.
