8 Day Total Tuscan Experience Guided Motorcycle Tour in Italy

Day 1 - Arrival at the villa and welcome dinner

Upon your arrival at the airport, a private transfer will take you to the villa. You will be assigned your suite and the swimming pool will be ready. All the group will meet there and you have the welcome dinner with which you officially start this experience!

Day 2 - The Apennines and the Ducati complex in Bologna

The first day of riding: you will start discovering the North area of Tuscany and the twisty roads of the Apennines and the Mugello riding through the most famous Tuscan passes such as the Raticosa Pass and the Futa Pass up to Bologna. You will have lunch at the Ducati Scrambler Food Factory in Bologna and visit the Ducati Museum and the official shop. You’ll have dinner at the villa.

Day 3 - San Gimignano, Volterra, and Monteriggioni

Today you will have a shorter ride to nearby towns. First, you will visit the impressive medieval town of San Gimignano, famous for its towers. A very nice ride will lead us to Volterra, a fantastic town that was founded 500 years BC!

After lunch, another fantastic road will take you to Monteriggioni, a small hamlet on top of a hill which is a perfect example of the small Tuscan medieval towns. You will be back at the villa not too late because today you have a cooking class with an English-speaking chef! Obviously, dinner will be the result of your work.

Day 4 - Ride to the Val d'Orcia

This will be a day rich in amazing landscapes: you will ride to the Val d’Orcia, probably the most beautiful area of Tuscany. You will visit many interesting places such as Montalcino where the “Brunello” wine is from, the Abbazia di Sant’Antimo, the wonderful little town of Bagno Vignoni, famous for the thermal waters and for last Pienza, a fantastic place with one of the best pecorinos of the world! That night you will have a homemade “pizza party” at the villa.

Day 5 - Day off and wine tasting

This will be a day of rest from the bikes and you will make something different: you will be driven on Mercedes vans to visit some nearby wineries where you will taste the great wines of the Chianti and have lunch. No worries, you do not have to drive so you can just focus on the wine. In the afternoon, time to relax at the villa and then you will have dinner.

Day 6 - Siena and more

On this day, you will first visit the fantastic city of Siena, which is close to the villa. Then you will go to an ancient Abbey, San Galgano, famous for the church and for the original and real sword in the stone. Your last visit of the day will be through an exciting road to Massa Marittima, a very interesting town near the sea. Dinner at the villa.

Day 7 - Last day of ride: Cortona

Today will be the last day you enjoy your motorcycles and will have a fantastic ride through the Chianti and Monte San Savino to the amazing town of Cortona (where the movie “Under the Tuscan Sun” takes place). You will visit Cortona and have lunch. A relaxing ride will take you back to the villa to get ready for the farewell dinner!

Day 8 - Time to leave

Last breakfast at the villa and a private transfer will take you to your airport, time to say “arrivederci”!

Motorcycles available for this tour

For this tour you can choose four different motorcycle options:

• Type A: Ducati Multistrada 1260, BMW S1000XR, BMW R1250GS, HD Street Glide Special (or similar)
• Type B: Ducati Multistrada 950, BMW F850GS, Moto Guzzi V85 TT, HD Road King (or similar)
• Type C: Ducati Scrambler 800, BMW F750GS, Moto Guzzi V7, HD SuperLow (or similar)
• Your own bike (more than 250 cc)

Please note that if your preferred motorcycle is not available for your dates, you can choose an available alternative from the same type. If you change the type, Tuscany Motorcycle Tours will change the price accordingly.

Skill level required for this tour: intermediate

Intermediate:

• Can ride for 3-4 hours
• Average riding experience
• Little assistance required
• Comfortable with extreme curves and leans
• Average experience with unsurfaced roads
• Steep ascents and descents

• The tour will be confirmed with at least six participants. In case the number of participants is lower than 10 the villa might change to a smaller one.
