Program
This four-day yoga holiday in Dartmoor brought by Wild Running is a fun and thrilling experience, where you will get to experience yoga sessions, guided runs of varying lengths including one night run on Dartmoor and the SW Cost Path, talks, and training for the fells.
Plus, there will be fell running techniques including video analysis with Ceri (SW Fells series winner 2022/23 and 2.46 minutes barefoot marathon runner), GB International and Cape Wrath women’s record holder Jo Meek, and functional movement specialist Joe Kelly, also known as Barefoot Athlete.
Wild Running will also be adding some breathwork and PT strength and conditioning consultation for this camp, as they want you to feel inspired, invigorated, and elated at having completed this weekend. The camp will be led by fell and trail running experts, with additional support from a qualified yoga instructor and a masseuse on hand throughout (just in case!).
They chose this fells, trail, and running weekend because of its proximity to the southern edges of Dartmoor and because of the comfort and uniqueness that this award-winning accommodation offers. And, they’ve added their popular morning yoga for runners session.
This is an ideal weekend for anyone who wants to get to know Dartmoor National Park a bit better, or someone who is training for a longer effort - perhaps an off-road marathon, a mountain marathon, a multi-day event, or an ultra - who wants to get some back-to-back runs in. Pace is not important. All abilities are welcome, as long as you are capable of running 10 miles off-road.
Ability
This camp is suitable for either experienced fell and trail runners or those wanting to dip their toe into these waters. Wild Running's experience has shown that people of all levels can be accommodated by their excellent guides, but they rarely see elite-level mountain goats who go through it alone.
The nature of the climbs and descents makes for a worthwhile challenge, while the experienced guides (who are former elite-level fell and trail runners themselves) will ensure that friskier runners can also feel tested and will also go away satisfied.
You should, however, be able to run a minimum of 10k off-road on different terrain. Speed is not an issue, so please don’t be put off by this!
