Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta
The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is known as ‘El Corazon del Mundo' or the heart of the world. It boasts the highest coastal mountain range in the world, being recognized as the second most biodiverse place for species of birds in the world. Expect to see the snow-capped mountains from the beach. It is home to many species such as the toucan, hummingbird, Guacamaya parrot, and howler monkeys. It is also home to four indigenous communities, the Koguis, Arhuacos, Wiws, and Cancuama.
