Cooking class

I enjoyed the private cooking lesson with Camilla. Laura was the interpreter and she was very helpful. The experience of meeting Camilla and her family was a highlight of my stay in Florence!

A fun and interesting experience

We learned techniques that make cooking easier, safer, and food tastier. The chefs Giacomo and Caterina were knowledgeable and helpful. The best part was meeting other people from many different places.

Outstanding Experience

Arianna was an excellent instructor. We had so much fun and learned a great deal. The resulting meals were delicious, and eating on her terrace overlooking the Tuscan countryside was just beautiful!

Wonderful 25h anniversary vacation

We had a great time with Enrico (our chef) and our stay at the Villa Fiesole Hotel. The location was great--away from the city but just a quick bus ride into town. It was quiet with clean accommodations. The staff was very helpful. We loved the hiking up the hill into Fiesole and visiting the Roman ruins there. We also had a great time in Florence--we went into town almost every day by bus and walked and shopped and ate. The breakfasts were typical European and made a good start to our days. We ate what we cooked in our cooking class for dinner so we didn't get to try the restaurant food. We will be back!

Very fun experience!

We really like the instructor Enrico, he spoke mostly in Italian, but it was really good for us because we experienced an authentic Italian cooking class. He did a lot of things by hand which was very neat. The hotel was close enough to Florence yet still in the country! We easily rode the bus to Florance with the locals! We met up with some old friends and celebrated both of our 25th anniversaries! Loved this experience!

Villa Fiesole Cooking Vacation

Villa Fiesole was a very nice hotel. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. My cooking classes with Chef Vilma were so enjoyable. I learned so much from her and enjoyed eating the fruits of our labor for dinner each night that we had a class.

Excellent service

I'm writing this review on behalf of my mother who took part in a cooking course with the Istituto Galilei. She is a lady of 83, with some mobility issues. I had a long email discussion with Jimberly about the course and how suitable it would be - and I cannot fault how well everything was organised. The hotel booked for her (Orto dei Medici) was excellent and took very good care of her, and she said it was extremely comfortable. Her course turned out to be one-on-one - and her rating of it was that it was exceptional. She is talking about going home and buying a pasta machine 🙂 Thank you to all involved.

Cooking Like an Ancient Tuscan

The Villa was beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Excellent service. Chef Gloria was incredible. She was organized and accommodated dishes I wanted to learn. Her passion for cooking and sharing her family recipes was evident each day.

She shared tips from her grand mothers kitchen and this history of the dishes we made. She made each day a special experience.

The staff at Instituto Galiliei were also very responsive to all the questions I had before the trip. JImberly was very responsive, She helped me to organize other excursions and sent me options and worked with me to make my trip memorable.

The entire experience from booking to end far exceeded my expectations

Amazing authentic cooking experience in Florencr!

I could not have been happier with my experience with the Galilei Institute cooking course at Ristorante da Lino! I was able to make more than twenty authentic Italian dishes and any requests I had were met by Chef Nicola! Location was amazing and Jimberly was so helpful organizing everything for me! I have already decided to come back next year to take some Italian language courses and continue my cooking experience!
