Silent Meditation Retreat in Spain

You are invited to immerse yourself into a transformative experience towards knowing your true nature, an experience that lets you delve deeper into yourself and leads you to take your first or further steps towards Self-Realization through Self-Inquiry, using the teachings of Bhaghavan Sri Ramana Maharshi and the ancient Indian philosophy Advaita Vedanta.

This silent meditation retreat is designed for those who honestly seek to deepen their spiritual practice and reach a greater understanding of themselves and the universe through self-contemplation and -investigation.

During the retreat, you will participate in several meditation sessions per day as well as in inspiring talks held by an Indian master (recordings from a Nididhyasana retreat in India that the host participated in) that explore the principles of illusion, the nature of the mind, self-inquiry, surrender, and pure existence (bliss), while staying completely silent for the duration of the retreat.

All activities are carefully planned to facilitate deep self-enquiry and to foster a state of awareness in which distinctions between self and environment dissolve.

Sessions are led by experienced facilitators who combine ancient techniques with a modern understanding. They are committed to providing you with a safe and welcoming space where you can explore your unified, non-dual essence.

To facilitate your immersion in the practice, Heartful Motion will ask for your mobile phone on arrival and return it to you on departure. In case you need to make any travel arrangements on your return home, they will be flexible with that.

Accommodation

In this retreat, you can choose from a private room, a shared room, or a private double if you're coming with a friend or partner. There are 7 rooms, all of which can be booked as double or single.

Shared rooms are of the same sex if possible. If there is no other possibility, you can choose to stay in a mixed gender room or upgrade to a private room.

*Please keep in mind that the facilities are those of a comfortable rural house but not of a luxury resort.

*Please note that there are cats on the property.

Program

The retreat instructions will be offered in English.

During the whole retreat we will be in silence, communicating neither non- nor verbally.

Participants commit to partake in every session offered, i.e. not to miss any of the sessions and to be on time for them.

The sitting meditation periods (including talks and breathing practices) will be 45-60 minutes long to facilitate a deep immersion in the practice and a gentle relationship with yourselves. There will be an introduction about the practice on the day of arrival and then several "reminders" about the instructions throughout the retreat; this means that there will be minimal to no guidance for the silent sittings.

Silence will start on arrival day with the first meditation in the afternoon and continue until the morning of departure day.

This retreat will be held in a comfortable and beautiful house 2 minutes walk from the quiet and not very touristic sandy beach of El Brosquil, Cullera, Comunidad Valenciana, Spain. A place with an enviable climate all year round with about 300 days of sunshine a year, without extreme temperatures.

The price of this retreat includes three daily flexi-vegan sattvic meals (breakfast = self-service), fresh eggs from Heartful Motion hens, fresh fruits (seasonally available), and teas during the day.

There will be no coffee or activating tea/ drinks offered at the retreat.

The people working at Heartful Motion are not professional chefs but people who love cooking and put all their passion and love into it.

How to get there

Arrival by plane

Heartful Motion can arrange a private transport by taxi from the retreat center to the airport for a cost of 90-100 EUR (one-way). For getting to the retreat center, you can take any taxi from the airport (destination: Heartful Motion).

Valencia is the nearest international airport. Also, it is very easy and cheap to get to Cullera by public transport. For more information, contact Heartful Motion directly, who will be happy to assist you.

Other optional airports are Madrid, Barcelona, Castellón, and Alicante.

Cancellation Policy

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 14% of the total price.
  • The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled.
  • The rest of the payment should be paid 10 days before arrival.
